We are pleased to be able to offer this exceptional piece from one of todays premier glass sculptors, David Van Noppen. The piece is signed and dated on the bottom, 1991 the date. The main body is hollow, while we assume the "legs" are solid (the piece is heavy). It kind of has an octopus look to it, with the tentacles attached. Don't know if this is named, but Noppens works are one of a kind. He is based out of Rhode Island and exhibits in galleries and has been featured in museum exhibits. Very good condition, no chips, cracks or repairs. Stands about 6 1/2" and is about 7" in length. SINGLE glass flowers from Noppen can sell for up to $80 and other Noppen sculptures are on line for over $1000 so this should be a great price for this piece. Superb antique signed Durand iridescent threaded art glass vase. The vase is signed V. Durand and numbered 1710 and also 8. The vase is in flawless condition with the exception of some of the very fine threading lacking in areas, it may have been purposely made this way for variety or it may have come off in the firing. The shape and colors of this beautiful vase are outstanding. This is perhaps one of the most beautiful Durand vases ever made. Victor Durand was the inventor of the threaded glass application. He was a designer for Tiffany's and then went out on his own to create some of the finest circa early 1900s American art glass ever made. This vase is an extraordinary example of his superb work and craftsmanship. The vase measures 8-1/2 inches high. Diameter at the top 6-1/2 inches. Widest width 8-1/4 inches.
