Country of Origin:USA Condition:Mint Year:1860 Description:1860 50C PR66 Cameo NGC. Type Two Reverse. Plum, gold, and forest-green hues enliven the peripheries. The radiant, icy devices show nice cameo contrast. An equisite strike and undisturbed fields ensure the quality. The Guide Book reports a proof mintage of 1,000 pieces, however, Breen estimates about 525 proofs were actually sold by the mint, and the remainder melted.Certificate No.: NGC 2141422-001 « Less

Country of Origin:USA Condition:Ecellent Year:18621862 50C PR65 Cameo NGC. The numerals 1862 are delicately impressed into the die like most proof coins seen of this date but the subsequent strike is notably bold. The centers are silver and nearly untoned radiating outward to pinkish-gray magenta and iridescent blue. Superb luster emerges unimpeded by the moderate toning. The grade appears conservative as even under a loupe no mentionable distractions are apparent. Census: 3 in 65 Cameo 3 finer (12/06). « Less

Country of Origin:USA Condition:Mint Year:1866 Description:1866 50C Motto PR66 Cameo NGC. Only 725 proof Seated Liberty half dollars were minted in 1866, the first year to include the motto IN GOD WE TRUST as part of the reverse design. Proofs are seldom encountered today and the first Motto year was particularly vulnerable to melting or loss.Soft golden and honey-brown colors bathe the borders of this equisitely struck Gem. Heavy cameo frost provides obvious contrast with the striated and reflective fields. A scant 725 proofs were struck, not including the unique No Motto proof that was stolen at gunpoint from the DuPont family in 1967 and never recovered.Certification No. 1773158-021 NGC « Less

Country of Origin:USA Condition:Ecellent Year:18731873 50C Arrows PR65 Cameo NGC. One of only two years for the reintroduced Arrows half dollar type and an especially desirable coin when located as a proof. Only 550 pieces were struck in this year the lower of the two proof mintages for the type. The fields show shimmering watery reflectivity and the devices are nicely frosted which provides a strong cameo contrast on both obverse and reverse. Light golden-olive-gray toning gravitates to the border on each side of this lovely Cameo Gem proof. Rarely seen so fine. Census: 4 in 65 9 finer (11/06). « Less

Country of Origin:USA Condition:Mint Year:1878 Description:1878 50C PR66 Cameo NGC. Type Two Reverse. An essentially brilliant Premium Gem that benefits from thickly iced devices and smooth, reflective fields. The strike is needle-sharp at the borders. A stingy 800 proofs were struck. The grade is surprisingly rare as the population in 67 Cameo is only 2, there are just a few cameos graded in both services. This is quite possibly the most beautiful proof 1878 Seated Half that I have ever seen. The surfaces are free of both toning and grade-limiting hairlines with a radiant appearance. Fully struck throughout, the frosty finished devices contrast boldly with the deep, glassy fields. A coin with eye appeal to spare.Certification No. 1962299-001 NGC « Less
