This is a beautiful three panel screen in the Eastlake tradition. It is ebonized mat black wood with gold painted inner ridges. There is anice gallery turned trim on both the top and bottom of the screen. The three panels of the screen have been covered with a English Victorian handpainted silk textile. Each panel depicts a group of colorful flowers and a butterfly or moth. All three panels have different flowers. The textile is signed by the artist MCA and dated 1905. The back of the screen has a simple dark fabric upholstery. The screen and textile coverings are in very good vintage condition but show slight wear and nicks to the feet as would be expected in a piece of furniture of this age. The finish trim on each panel is a floral cotton lace embellished with French lingerie ribbon and flowers. This was a project of my previous design firm Nightingale Designs and was assembled in the late 1980''s. It has been in my home as a wall decoration since my store closed. Because the hinges are old the screen does not fold and will need to be tranported by a professional shipper. All pick up, wrapping and shipping are the buyer''s choice and the buyers expense. I would suggest a firm such as Craters & Freighters who will give you an estimate of costs using my photos and dimensions. This is an unusual English Arts & Crafts magazine rack that I purchased in Scotland in the 1980''s. It has an oak frame and base with hand tooled floral leather sides and brass handle. The leather is raised and tooled then upholstered with nail heads to the sides of the rack. The flowers are hand painted in purple flowers. The piece is in very good condition with the exception of a spot on one side where some idiot put a price tag. That can be fixed. I am not quoting shipping and prefer that the buyer arrange pick up, packing and shipping with Crater & Freighters or the shipper of your choice at buyers expense. This was a display piece used in my antiques store which closed in 1990''s. It comes apart at the middle as pictured and can be shipped in two boxes. It has been in storage since the closing of my store. I presume it is in good condition, it may have slight loss of gilt paint.
