Set of 10 magnificent handpainted lead soldiers in Parade Dress. Part of the estate of a vintage lead soldier collection.The tallest figure, holds the banner at 3 3/4inches. Height to the top of most dress helmets is 3inches.Each figure stands/walks on a green, angled base. Smart white tight trousers with a stripe along the side and a sword on the left. Royal blue jackets with gold buttons and epaulettes, red cuffs and collars. Some figures play musical instruments and others carry flags (Prussian/Russian?) and standards. They are handpainted in rich enamel. The detail is outstanding - from the expression in the eyes to the rosy cheeks and moustaches. All in wonderful condition. Still has original label that reads " BRITISH MIRROR SCOPE, Style Toys ltd, LONDON" and a series of Reg numbers. This piece will be a great addition to a toy collection. It is not a great functional piece since the interior glass has like a smoke like stain so you can't really play with it, you can still see inside but it is not like modern kaleidoscopes at all. Still a very rare and primitive form of kaleidoscope. Some old small cracks in glass that have been glued. SOLD AS IS. MEASURES: 8" LONG X 2" HIGH. London, 1880's.NOTE: Pictures were taken both with and without flash light so you can see the tone of the patina with different types of light. A set of three VTG antique bisque head baby dolls with original clothes, head feet and arms are made in bisque, they all looked hand painted and the biggest one is the only one marked " JAPAN" on its neck so I guess they are all from Japan made in the 40's or earlier. Included in the lot is the dress pictured by itself, it was on the biggest doll but don't know if belongs to her. All in good VTG shape with no broken parts or cracks.
