AN ENGLISH POTTERY WHIELDON-TYPE TORTOISE-SHELL TEAPOT. CIRCA 1770. ; ; ; ; ;The teapot has a creamware body with tortoise-shell glaze in brown. The handle is made in the form of crabstock, while the finial on the cover is in the shape of a bird. The entire body and spout are covered with applied vine decoration. ;The teapot stands on three feet. A small hairline in glaze under handle & chip to tip of spout. Emaux de Longwy: French enamel pottery faience teapot, sugar, creamer and plate. Made in France early 20th century.Teapot is approx 5 1/4inches high. Full, round body, with bright blue handle. Double handled, lided sugar basin is 3 1/2inches high and also has a round shape. Milk jug / creamer is 2 1/4 inches high and plate is 6inches in diameter.Fabulous raised enamel in pinks, red and green on bright turquoise ground. Handles and finials are blue with pink rings around the rims of finials. Design shows very strong Japanese influence and depicts blossoms and branches. Enamelling is almost jewel-like in quality. Each piece is marked with Longwy mark used 1920-40 and impressed round mark. Condition is excellent. No chips/cracks/damage of any sort. Cobalt blue and gold miniature cabaret tete-a-tete, teaset and tray, made 19th century, France. Tray measures 3 3/4inches long and 2 1/4inches wide.Set consists of a tray, teapot, sugar bowl with lid and two handles, milk jug and two cups and saucers.All pieces are cobalt blue with rich gold trim and gold decoration, including a pair of 18th century courting dancers in a landscape setting. Cups are less than 1/4inch high/diam and the tallest piece, the tea pot is 1 1/4inch high.
