Finely painted scene of a stormy coastline. Fine watercolor with birds and cliffs and a steamer in the distance on the horizon. Great grey toned watercolor with a small touch of water damage left center looks like cap of a wave. Well listed with 50+ strong listings from auction houses and sales to $13,000.Fantastic work dated 1869 and signed G L Hall. Sized at 35 1/2'' BY 21 1/2'' in frame and approximately and about 28'' by 14'' at sight not examined out of frame. George Lothian Hall was born in England in 1825 and he died in Wales in 1888. He was mainly a watercolour painter, though there are a few of his drawings still in existence, his prefered subjects seem to have been landscapes. He was active in London between 1856 and 1878 and two of his watercolours are in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. A museum grade Mexican covered silver bowl signed and fully marked and made in Mexico City in the late 18th early 19th century. Fantastic foliate scrolls around top and bottom sections with fine hand wrought segmentation. Acorn and oak leaf knob and completely hand chased and made. Stands 8'' tall and about 7'' wide. Weighs about 33 ounces troy maybe a bit more as my scales can''t weigh this much. Fantastic and exceptionally rare early Mexican silver piece with the flying eagle hallmark M Mexico city hallmark and signed A. Ochoa E Hijos. Signature on base appears to be a double stamp so looks different. Circa 1800 perhaps as early as 1780. Condition is very good with no monograms or damage. Exceptionally rare piece. Spectacular piece with great color contrast. Circa 1890 and stands about 6'' tall. The Webb ''propellor mark'' that we now know for fact that this mark is the mark of the Harrach glass factory used mainly during the Victorian era, from around 1890 to 1920. the Harrach glass factory is one of the oldest glass houses still in operation today (2012 will be it''s 300th anniversary!). Harrach was initially run by Count Harrach, and opened in 1712. It''s located in the small town of Harrachov in Northern Bohemia, less then a mile from Poland, in what was once part of Austria, then Czechoslovakia, and is now the Czech Republic.
