Pair of Art Deco Streamline Wall Sconces Circa 1938 These sconces were made by Mid-West Mfn of Kansas City, KS. This composition is from their "Chesterton" Series, circa 1938. Nice design for the more Streamline design motif of the 1938 Deco era. Sears, when they put them into their lighting catalog, changed the name to "Mellow-Glow" for their 1938 Lightmaster Catalog. The metal finish is pewter. Measurements: * Height: 8" * Width: 6 ½" * Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room. Very impressive. These sconces have been totally rewired with high grade sockets and new central lead wire. Sockets are UL approved for up to 100 watts incandescent. The rotary switch was also replaced. Art Deco Three Shade Chandelier by Lincoln Circa 1935 This three light chandelier comes from Lincoln's "The Grosvenore Series," and is in their catalog of 1935. Very Streamline in design with a mock world décor stem, which reminded us of the world's fair at that time. Lincoln boasted a Bronze finish with contrasting silver elements (which were really the base aluminum metal)...and over this amount of time...the finish has mellowed...faded...and is as 80 year old finishes would be expected to appear. Still...for its age...nice contrasting like an old Persian carpet. Nice amber shades in pretty darn good condition. Antique Restored Red-Bronzed Finish Cast Iron Art Deco Slip Shade Wall Sconces Circa 1930. True high-end quality, original, cast iron, antique frames with a lovely reddish-bronze finish. It is difficult to cast reticulated backplates, as any casting man will tell you. The frames show nice contrasting color variation, due to their age, but it does reflect the total age and care of this antique. These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were the only sconces made for this series of slip shade lights. These fixtures are in such nice condition. The bronze finish is very nice indeed. The shades are simply in fantastic condition, with old amber finish displaying dashes of clear design. Measurements: * Height: 12" * Width: 5 ¼" * Projection: 5" from the wall into the room. These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop, with new sockets and all new wire. The column design of the backplates, which also matches the panel design in the shades, just says "Romanesque Streamline Deco". The pewter finished backplates with custard panel design shades match very nicely indeed. Moe Bridges Art Deco 5 Slip Shade Chandelier Circa 1935 five light Art Deco chandelier made by Moe Bridges of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This light comes from the series that Moe Bridges called the Croydon Series. The series was always made in cast iron, and finishes were red bronze and nickel, with touches blue and red highlights. You can see that this is the original finish by the close-up picture of the stem showing those two accent colors. The shades are in outstanding condition, with only the slightest roughness around the fitters...not seen after mounting. Art Deco Pair of Slip Shade Wall Sconces by Virden A nice pair of Art Deco sconces, made by Virden and pictured in their catalog of 1931. Finished in old gold, they definitely have a feeling of Arts & Crafts, along with their Art Deco nature. We suggest that they could be used in either design scheme. Virden called this series: The Berkeley Line. There were chandeliers with various support types, but only one wall sconce...and it was this one. It was stock numbered 1401. This pair of nice sconces are finished in an Art & Crafts style of old-gold, and have an air of Gothic to them, while still remaining Deco. This design crossed a few decorative motifs. The shades are amber, and in good...remarkable...condition. Measurements: * Height: 11", measured from the top of the shade to the bottom of the backplate. * Width: 6 ¼" (maximum) * Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room. The shades are in very good condition, and seem to match the rounded decorative elements of the backplate quite well. The metal is finished in an antique hi/lo pewter look, and has some interesting decorative elements reflecting both Edwardian and Streamline Deco. Measurements: * Height: 9 ½" * Width: 5 ½" * Projection: 6 ½" from the wall into the room. Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Art Deco 6 Slip Shade Chandelier by Mid West Mnf So nice to be able to offer another really fine light to you. Here we have one of the unusual lights of the Deco era from Mid West Mfg, circa 1935. This is the SIX shade Oxford Series, top-of-the-line, chandelier. There was no more sophisticated chandelier in the Oxford Series than this one. Mid West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is white metal with gold highlights with a great finish. The castings are so beautiful, with lots of crackle parts. The finish does have some minor variations, but it also has a nice mellow appearance. Most antiquers would not touch this lovely...aged white metal and old gold highlight...finish. It is simply striking. This light has been totally re-wired in our UL registered shop, with six new sockets and a new main stem wire. Measurements: * Height: 25" * Diameter: 16 ½" (measured shade-tip to shade-tip) * Canopy: 7" in diameter. It does have a couple of extra drilled holes...for what purpose...we can only guess. They are just there now. The amber five slip shades, and the bottom shade, are in excellent condition. As normal...there is a slight color variation between the slip shades and the bottom shade, which is normal as most folks know, but we are mentioning it as well. A full mounting kit will be supplied...so nothing more to buy...except light bulbs.
