Fabulous French Empire Revival tea service including a tea pot, creamer and lidded sugar. Beautifully crafted by S & Fils, this set made of the better than sterling .950 More »
Fabulous French Empire Revival tea service including a tea pot, creamer and lidded sugar. Beautifully crafted by S & Fils, this set made of the better than sterling .950 silver that makes French sterling collectors of the most discerning sophisticated connoisseur. Each piece decorated with stiff leaf borders & palmetto attachments for the intricately textured legs. The pot and lidded sugar have fluted top knops with stiff leaf bases. The tea pot has a magnificent eagle's head, Napoleon's treasured symbol of Empire, surmounting the tip of the spout. The spout base exquisitely adorned with large scrolling acanthus, and again a stiff leaf base. All legs terminate in paw feet. Condition is good. There are some minor signs of use; a ding here, modest depression there. My silversmith carefully went over every millimeter, and this set is freshly polished. The cream and tea pot have ebony handles. Each piece bears the Minerve 1st titre; French guarantee for .950 silver; and the maker's stamp for S & Fils. Circa 1890-1911.
Dimensions: Tea pot is 10" tall, 9.25" long and 4.5" diameter. It weighs 865 grams. The sugar is 8.5" tall, 6.25" long (handle to handle) and 4.5" diameter, weighing 590 grams. And the cream is 6.5" tall, 4.5" long, 3.25" diameter and weighs 255 grams. The total weight is 1710 grams; that's 54.977 troy ounces, 3.76 pounds. « Less

Resist this! Utterly breathtaking Renaissance pattern flatware set, 5 pieces place settings for 12, plus 2 fabulous serving spoons. Produced by renowned silver smith Henin & Cie, active late 1800's, the quality is superb. This is one of the top two patterns I've offered. The handle decoration on one side comprised of a beautiful scrolling lattice work of leafs & vines on a finely textured ground, framed in strapping. The other side carries out the scrolling verdure motif, with a fine scroll work cartouche with inter-laced applied monogram: "OA", neath which is the mascaron! One the service ends of the pieces, spectacular strapped scroll out of which issues foliate fronds and bell flowers. The tip of the handle is beaded, a classic elegant design. Condition is excellent. I am providing the set with a period box that is not original to the flatware. The box is imperfect, but very fine nonetheless. The soup ladle and berry spoon will not fit in the box. Each piece is .950 sterling; the large heavy pieces for which French sterling is renowned.
Dimensions: Dinner spoons: 8.5" long, weight 90 grams Dinner forks: 8.5" long, weight 85 grams Salad/dessert spoons: 7 7/8" long, weight 55 grams Salad/dessert forks: 7.5" long, weight 55 grams Teaspoons: 5.75" long, weight 30 grams Berry spoon: 8 7/8" long, weight 115 grams Soup Ladle: 13.5" long, weight 265 grams Total weight for the set 4160 grams, not including the box; just the silver! « Less

Absolutely gorgeous sterling silver wine bottle coaster dating from 1868! Pierced silver repousse decorated with ram's heads, putto, floral garlands and cartouches without monogramming!! All sitting upon little winged hoof feet and nestled within lovely pearl borders. The coaster itself is wooden with a great patina, a tribute to this very nicely aged piece. Condition is very good: no flaws to note. Certainly some signs of use and age, such as a little crinkle on the bottom rim, a minor distorion of the wooden insert within the coaster bottom. Simply superb!
Please see photos for dimensions and marks. The silver is .950/1000 sterling. The maker's punch for Paillart Brothers, 1868-1888 (Gauthier Martial 1888-1902 Succ). « Less

I just love these antique French figural silver pieces! This charming coffee pot and cream share the graceful elegant lines and Empire decoration. The pot has a pomegranate finial. There are two stiff leaf and berry edges, on the lid and the neck of the pot. the spout has a lion's head tip and the base beautifully engraved with a foliate motif. The long legs attached with hand chased foliate cartouches and tipped with lion's paws. The cream matches in all respects save the lion's head. Both have ebony handles mounted with floral accents. Simply divine set! The master silver smith is Adolphe Boulenger, active in Paris 1876-1899. A craftsman noted for the finest quality!
Condition is good to very good. There are no flaws to note with the pot. The vream has a very shallow depression at the neck. As you can see from the phots, this is difficult to detect. But it's there. Else usual light signs of use. Please see photos for dimensions and marks. Both pieces are fully hallmarked and guaranteed to be .950/1000 sterling. « Less

Gorgeous boxed solid sterling silver dessert set, covered with gold: vermeil. The dessert spoon, fork and coffee spoon come in the original box. These pieces bear violin shaped handles decorated with a charming foliate design. The pieces date from the early Napoleon III era, around 1850; each is marked with the Minerve 1st titre, .950 sterling guarantee; and the maker's punch for William Deniere, 1850. The knives are .800 silver with gold plate and mother of pearl handles. These are Restauration Era, 1819-1838. The knives have an inset shield without a monogram and come with a period box. The spoons and forks do have a monogram, which I am unable to make out. This is a fabulous set! So incredibly hard to find, and utterly beautiful!
Condition is very good. There is some wear to the gold, and other usual signs of use; a tine bent slightly here and there. But a superb set! The spoons are 7" long, the forks 7.25" long, the coffee spoons 5.75" long, and the knives 7 7/8" long. The weight of the spoons is 906 grams, forks 894 grams, coffee spoons 474 grams and knives 610 grams. Combined weight is 2884 grams. With the boxes 4880 grams. « Less
