This is a fabulous pair of antique double-arm sconces, signed by their maker, Markel Electric Products, and dating from the 1920’s. These cast iron sconces are crowned with foliate volutes, and each back plate features a magnificent sunburst with a simple round button in the center. The back plate comes down into a double arm, accented in the center by a diamond-shaped sunburst with a geometric pattern. Below, the sconce finishes in a volute and foliate design. The end of each arm finishes in a miniature sunburst and supports a bobeche with cutout foliate detail. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. We kept the original nonfunctioning turn switches for nostalgia’s sake; however, we will gladly replace them with new ones if desired. The sconces measure 11 ½” tall, 4 5/8” wide, and protrude 5 ½” from the wall.   « Less

This is an unbelievable set of fourteen matching, superbly cast, single-arm iron sconces dating to 1920’s - 1930’s. These delightful sconces feature octagonal back plates with twisted rope border and smooth inner ring. A single arrow pierces each center ring, goes through a border or foliates and scrolls and touches the twisted rope. The sconces are crowned with large stylized anthemion finials. Simple, S-curved, iron arms spring from the lower portion of the backs and hold tulip-shaped bobeches. The sconces are signed by their maker, the Moe Bridges Company. The wall lamps are in excellent condition. They have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The back plate features a sleek shield design, crowned with foliate detail flanked by volutes, with a garland of red and green leaves running down each side. A pair of S-curved, fluted arms springs from an urn near the base of the back plate, ornamented with red and green foliate detail. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This is a fascinating pair of antique cast iron Neoclassical double-arm sconces, dating from the 1920’s. Retaining their original polychrome finish, these sconces begin at the top with a triad of plumes resting in a crown. The back plate, which features a center floret button surrounded by a torsade border, is flanked with foliate detail and draped with swags. The U-shaped double arm is attached to the base of the back plate, and is accented with a floret at each end. At the end of each arm rests a foliate bobeche, each balanced below by a foliate finial. These wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired and come with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. This is an attractive pair of antique Neoclassical single-arm sconces, dating from the 1920’s. Each sconce features an octagonal back plate with a center floret button, surrounded by a beautiful floral and vine design on a textured background. The design is surrounded by a beaded border, and the edges of the sconce angle back toward the wall, accented at each corner by a small floret design. A splendid loop finial, formed of volutes and florets, crowns each sconce and supports a bellflower garland running down the sides. The bottom of the back plate comes down in stylized foliate detail to the sconce arm, which is ornamented in foliate and floral detail. The arm supports an intricate bobeche, accented by foliate detail. Below the arm, the back plate finishes in volute and foliate detail.
