German cabinet in walnut tree. Ten small drawers around a small door opening on a recess decorated with a chess board and three mirrors. This central part set back, flanked on either side by six drawers. Wood veins appear. The chess board and the cabinet surround are in ivory and amaranth marquetry. The small door is decorated with a flower in marquetry. The six lateral drawers and the central small door have ormolu carved locks cover. Very good condition. XVIII° Period, Circa: 1700. Dim: W: 44,9 in - D: 13,4in - H: 16,5in. / Cabinet d'origine germanique en noyer. Deux rangs de trois tiroirs sont disposées latéralement, au centre un ensemble de dix petits tiroirs est placé en retrait, entourant une petite porte qui ouvre sur un damier, les trois parois sont recouvertes d'un miroir. Les veines du bois sont apparentes. Le damier ainsi que l'encadrement de façade du cabinet sont en marqueterie d'ivoire et d'amarante. La petite porte centrale porte une fleur marquetée. Les six tiroirs latéraux ainsi que la porte centrale sont munis d'une serrure qu'agrémentent de petits reliefs avec visage et putti en bronze doré. 18th century French Louis XII cabinet. A superb example of a period cabinet from Provence. This cabinet has a lovely and rich patina—the perfect honey brown color which adds character and warmth to any décor. This cabinet is all original including the back and pewter hardware. The doors are wonderful, with hand-made panels, moldings and original walnut pegged construction. Incredible carved barley twist columns flank each door, upper and lower, and matching center columns complete the astethics of the piece. It also rests on original bunn feet, typical of the period. The drawers are all hand dove-tailed and maintain the original locks. This wonderful cabinet would make an excellent cabinet for a country kitchen or keeping room. Or, the perfect wine cabinet!!! 19th century Black lacquer with gilt Word cabinet from South China, Zhejiang. In excellent condtion the Black lacquer has aged wonderfuly showing only little signs of worn through to wood. The Panel doors display four imortals with ausipsious fish, lobster, crab and sea Dragon (Li) also with floral motif and caligraphy. Most word cabinets were used for for the storage of books and scholars objects. This piece has It going On. Full lower apron, humpback struts on the sides, and the legs have melon molding detail.
