Hard to find Arts and Crafts LARGE garden or outside social sconces. We have seen similar ones used in home theaters for a nice effect.
Circa 1900, they were constructed as GAS and Electric sconces, like the interior chandeliers made at this time when electrical supplies were spotty at best. Looking on top of the sconce, you can see the gas valve with teeter lever valve which could be opened and closed using a long gas lighter's pole.
The overall height of this great sconce with the chain long is 38", while it's width is 9 1/4". It projects outwards 20". On the short chain fixture, the chain is about 5 inches shorter.
To get an idea of just how large these great lights are, please note the 12" ruler that is included in the pictures.
The original ball shade has a 6" fitter and is much thicker than the re-creations that are made today. It is just amazing that it has survived about 100 years.
This could quite easily accept a 250 watt light bulb or the new induction type bulbs.
We have removed all the rust and replaced perished screws. These fixtures have been re-wired to UL standards and are ready to mount. We are offering the ten fixtures, taken from an estate, finished in either an aunatural Iron and Brass...or...finishing them in a Semi-Gloss black. When these fixtures are gone, as they say...they are gone. Only ten were pulled from a lovely estate courtyard.
Measurements: Backplate measures: Height 20 11/16" x Width 6 3/4". OA Height 38" x W 9 1/4". Projects 20". Fitter size 6".
Price $935.00 plus shipping charges. Yes, it comes complete with the round globe shade. « Less

ANT-268 Art Deco Lincoln 5 Light Chandelier with Original Shades.
Not every chandelier made during the Depression in Art Deco style was a slip shade light. This is a fine example of an Art Deco chandelier with its original glass shades, made by Lincoln manufacturing circa 1938.
The finish is totally original. Old copper/copper-bronze finish. Very striking. Pictures seem to be showing a mostly "old gold" color...but there really is more of a copper touch to this finish than "old gold".
This fixture could be lengthened or shortened by adding/subtracting chain links.
The chandelier has been totally rewired with high grade sockets and new central lead wire. Sockets are UL approved for up to 100 watts incandescent, up to 500 total incandescent watts.
Measurements: 25 1/2" tall with the chain as shown. Can be shortened to 20" by removing all but one chain link. It has a diameter of 18 1/2".
Comes complete with original shades and ready to hang.
Price: $475.00 plus shipping. « Less

ANT-272 Lovely pair of Circa 1920 wall sconces.
Original backplates and original shades.
These sconces have a lovely Edwardian pewter look and a great design that is so typical of the Edwardian style.
The original shades are very nice. A frosted center set off by two sections of amber. Due to their age, there is a place "or two" where there are very MINOR flakes to the shades where they fit into the holder (not seen). It is normal 90 year wear & tear and so very minor, but we have to mention it.
The metal of the backplates is cast white metal with a lovely pewter finish. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely re-wired with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches, made by Leviton in the 20's...and still made up to ONE year ago. So these switches by Leviton are becoming more rare as we note this.
Measurements: The overall sconce height is 11 3/4". The maximum width (shade) is 5 3/4". It will project into the room 6" from the wall.
$325.00 for the pair, plus shipping. « Less

Pair of very impressive French, 5-light, large outstanding sconces, Circa 1910-20+.
These impressive wall statements are 40" tall. They are also 17 1/2" wide (shade tip to shade tip) and will project into the room 10" to 13" depending on which shade you measure.
Each sconce weighs in at about 30 pounds.
We completely re-wired these french sconces and removed the french sockets to convert them to our American bulbs and current.
The mounting of these sconces is more unique than normal. That shield medallion, on the backplate between the four arms, hides the main mounting device. The medallion itself is held onto the backplate by one slotted ball-screw just visible in the picture. Behind the medallion, the mounting device uses a large bore 3/8 nps all-thread to a heavy duty specially made crossbar which we will supply. A completely sophisticated mounting and finish for a great pair of french sconces.
We think it is an excellent choice for an area needing a significant pair of sconces.
This fixture comes complete with our neat little candle style 35C-E26 LED bulb. This little 2 watt bulb produces almost as much light as a 25 watt incandescent bulb but only nibbles at the electricity. AND....it lasts 30,000 hours. We naturally carry replacements if an accident, or a matching option, deems necessary at some time in the future.
$2,250 for the complete pair with shades and LED bulbs plus shipping. « Less
