A very beautiful green funerary vase potted from earthenware. It is slightly heavy as there is earth harden on the inside of the vase, due to the long period of burial. The center part of the body appears to be molded in two parts and probably lute together by a clay liquid slip that acted like glue. Little attention was given to the finishing of the lute line, which exhibited as protruded line on the surface. There are crack lines on the body No repairs or restorations. The mat green glaze shows an iridescent whitish colour. There are degradation, cracks on the body, chips, losses and abrasions, as a consequence of long period of burial and subsequent cleaning. Yuan dynasty (1277-1367) cizhou style iron brown floral motif stem cup. Some repair works. A very thinly potted small blue and white Ming dynasty saucer. It is so thinly potted that if held against the light, we can see through it. The center of the saucer has a flower that looks like a lotus pod in a double circle. The porcelain is slightly grayish in color. It has the Cheng Hua (1465-1487) six character mark and of the period. There are minor firing faults with frittings and chips along the rim and base. No hair line crack. Generally in good condition. A large and beautifully potted blue and white ginger jar. It is a scene of a dragon and phoenix chasing after the "Pearl of Fire" between heaven above and the sea below. Both the dragon and the phoenix are elaborately drawn with much details. The ginger jar also has the original porcelain cover as well. A very fine lobed hexagonal Worcester spoon tray beautifully hand decorated in the Chinese influenced Compagnie des Indes style. With a central floral spray within a gilt wreath surrounded by smaller flower sprigs within a purple diaper border lined with gilt and red lined swags. In excellent condition with no damage or restoration. There is light wear to the high points of the purple diaper border only. The central panel where you would normally expect some rubbing and wear is as perfect as the day it was painted. These wonderful little spoon trays come from a period when taking tea was an occasion. Pair of antique Hirado ware porcelain vases decorated with flying cranes. Each vase depicts the cranes flying, one of them with the cranes flying counter clockwise, while the other vase features the cranes flying clockwise. The vases were transformed in a pair of lamps in 20th. century. The vases date from 19th. century and are very rare as Hirado ware and as subject. The Hirado porcelain is the prince of Japanese porcelain and highly prized by the refined advanced collectors who want the best for their collection.There is a repair fissure on one of the vases.
