Antique Art Deco Five Light Chandelier Circa 1920-30s Nice five light Deco era chandelier with drop-in, light amber shades with clear borders. Cast Metal is nicely finished in a pewter finish, which works nicely with the light amber/clear border shades. A rather nice chandelier with curvilinear aspects. Wonderful condition. The shades are in good condition. Co-existing at the same time as slip shade lighting, this was a fashion that had a more reliable and safer mounting shade than slip shades. There was, and sometimes is, a preference for this type of shade for a more traditional look. Measurements: * Height: 24" * Spread: 21 ½" This fixture can be lengthened by adding more stem length. Note that the wire was threaded through the arms to the center cluster body where they are joined, and then one central lead wire goes up to the canopy for mounting. Moe Bridges Art Deco 3 Slip Shade Pendant Light A well-known name in Art Deco Americana lighting is Moe Bridges. There are existing catalogs from the 1930s that show his lines, as well as a few reference books. This pendant comes from the series that Moe Bridges called the "Etruscan Series". This three-shade pendant was presented in their 1935 catalog. The frame is cast iron, and still retains much of its original gold polychrome finish. Like most antiques, this chandelier is showing its age a bit. Some of the finish is worn in places and muted, like an old Persian carpet. We tend to be purists, and appreciate the aged beauty of the original finish, so we have just gently cleaned this fixture up a bit. The shades are a deep amber color, and present a nicely carved detail design thereon. Measurements: * Height: 21" * Spread: 14 ½" This fixture can be made longer by adding more chain. Very Collectable Art Deco Slip Shade 5 Light Chandelier by Globe Globe Lighting Fixture Mfg Co. was located in Brooklyn, NY on 7th Avenue and 12th Street. They were not as big as companies like Lincoln or Markel, but they did make some very interesting, and uniquely different, Art Deco lights...which are now harder to find. This 5 slip shade chandelier is just such a hard-to-find, and collectable light. It was stock numbered 4216 in their catalog of 1934-35. The cast iron frame has bold and striking lines. It is finished in a pewter look with highlights. Measurements: * Height: 16" overall, measured from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the finial. * Diameter: 17 ½" (maximum) The length can be increased, if so desired...for a small additional charge. Please contact us for pricing. The shades are a nice light amber, and will be shown very much nicer once 100 watt bulbs are installed. Our pictures are only taken with 11 watt bulbs, so as to not blow-out the focus of the camera lens. The shades are in very good condition, and seem to match the rounded decorative elements of the backplate quite well. The metal is finished in an antique Hi/Lo pewter look, and has some interesting decorative elements reflecting both Edwardian and Streamline Deco. The contrasting cast iron frame with the nickel plated steel elements are so very striking. Pewter finished backplates, paired with light yellow and contrasting clear design shades.
