Late Art Deco Pair of Sconces Circa 1938 Nice pair of wall sconces. Original antique backplates, and original antique shades. These sconces have a close-to-Streamline appearance. The dark pewter color backplates have nice simple accents, but the more restrained design is so typical of the late Deco style, i.e. more like Streamline Art Deco. The shades are a nice embossed design glass, with semi-opaque and clear glass, and a small pattern running along the top border. They match the straight line ambiance of the fixtures quite well. They are in excellent condition. Measurements: * Height: 9" * Width: 6 ¾" (including the shade) * Projection: 8" from the wall into the room. Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice. These sconces have been completely re-wired with new sockets and all new wire in our UL listed workshop. Please note that the switches for these lights are directly below the shades. They are part of the socket, and make an integral part of the light. American Art Deco STREAMLINE Sconces by Virden Cast 1939 signed Art Deco sconces that are in the Virden catalog #39 (i.e. 1939 as the catalog number reflected the year it was published). These sconces were item 6001 from the Carleton Series. Virden bragged: Underwriters Approved. The shades have the typical Streamline concentric rings, which are so very iconic of Streamline design. The shade colors are all original, and near mint. The metal finish is pewter, and there is a touch of roughness to the frames...not serious...but as cast, and 1930s produced. Measurements: * Height: 7 ½" from the top of the shade to the bottom of the metal backplate. * Width: 7" (widest) * Projection: 4" from the wall into the room. Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs were installed. The sconces have a rotary switch for on and off. Each sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. Antique Art Deco 6 Light Top-of-the-Line Chandelier with Original Shades Circa 1934 - 1936, this chandelier was the best from the line by having six shades. The finish is pewter finished white metal, which was most common at the time, with a few darkened accents. The detail of the 5 amber slip shades is nice. The bottom shade appears a little big, but matches quite nicely. As normal...the color of the bottom shade is just a touch different than the slip shades...but that is quite typical. This chandelier has been totally rewired in our UL shop, with high grade sockets and new central lead wire. Sockets are UL approved for up to 100 watts each of incandescent bulbs so...up to 500 total incandescent watts for the outside slip shades. There is one socket for each slip shade, and a socket for the bottom disk that takes a smaller bulb. American Art Deco 3 Light Chandelier by Puritan This circa 1930s fixture was made by a little-known company called Puritan, which had an interesting array of shade variations for this type of frame. The most popular one with 1930s customers was this nice shade that has the lovely embossed floral spray. The frame is made from cast iron, and has a pewter finish. Antique Lincoln Mfg Quality Slip Shade Chandelier Circa 1935 This 5 shade chandelier was made by Lincoln Manufacturing, who were ONE of the largest makers of slip shade lighting in America, and who even sold to Sears. We know Lincoln design and castings quite well, having handled hundreds of their various products. This particular chandelier is unique because of the design of the shades. It came from the series called Dynalite. It has attributes that are DIFFERENT from Virden, or Markel, or Acme, or Frankelite, or Halcolite, or Globe. The positioning of the shade, being upside down, was a favorite variation of Lincoln's that was hardly ever used by any other manufacturer. The fixture is aluminum...Lincoln Mnf was an aluminum foundry, rather than cast iron or cast zinc. The shades are just so fantastic. Amber glass with floral reliefs. The frame is "old gold" colored, and original. Like most antiques, this chandelier is showing its age a bit. Some of the finish is worn in places, and muted like an like an old Persian carpet. Measurements: * Height: 26 ½" * Diameter: 16" Wiring: Totally rewired (with new sockets and wire) in our UL shop. It's ready to hang, and we will supply all the necessary parts to do so easily. Very Nice 6 Light Slip Shade Top-of-the-Line Art Deco Chandelier by Mid-West Mnf The decorative elements of this six light chandelier are really quite nice. There's a crackle surface finish in old gold, surrounded by elements of nickel plating, complete with a tapered Deco center motif. Mid-West really did know how to design iconic fixtures, and this one has a taste of step-deco combined with the restrained features of Streamline design. Circa 1934-37, it does appear in their literature as the Empire design. And this model was absolutely top-of-the-line for this series...you could not buy a more expensive model. The family consisted of this 6 shade chandelier (with a couple different stem configurations); a three light chandelier; a two light pendant; and then wall sconces. Solid Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier by Mid West Mnf So nice to be able to offer another really fine light to you. Here we have one of the scarcer lights of the Deco era from Mid West Mfg Circa 1935. Not only is it because of the series it belongs to, but scarcer again since it is an uncommon style, being a close ceiling chandelier with the large ceiling plate which was seldom made. This is a FIVE light (shade) Soleure close ceiling chandelier. Mid West made the best quality Art Deco lighting. This close ceiling chandelier is solid bronze with a great original finish. The castings are so beautiful, with lots of pierced parts which are...were...so hard to do, as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor variations, but it also has a nice mellow appearance that most antiquers would not touch...a lovely, aged bronze finish. It is simply beautiful. This light has been totally rewired in our UL registered shop with five new sockets. Measurements: * Height: The drop of this light is only a mere 14 ½". * Diameter: 17 ¾" The five shades are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and they all match each other very well. This fixture is perfect for a smaller room. Measurements: * Height: 12" * Diameter: 10" overall, measuring the metal part of the shade. This fixture is lit by a single standard socket within that will accept a 100 watt light bulb. We did not power it up for pictures, as too strong of a bulb blows out the focus of our camera lens. We always use small 25 watt or lower bulbs in our pictures so the details of the light fixture itself are revealed.
