A fabulous antique Spanish Revival cast iron chandelier, dating from the 1920’s. This five-light chandelier descends in a chain to a twisted hook resting on a hammered platform, with a hammered column below. At the base of the column, the chandelier comes out into five bands accented with leaves. The bands curve downward to support a hammered ring, from which extend five chandelier arms with hammered bobeches. The bottom of the chandelier finishes in a dangling finial accented with a curled leaf. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier body measures 16-1/4” wide and 16” tall to the top of the hook, and the fixture is 28-3/4” long overall. The chandelier begins with a foliate loop finial, below which five wrought iron bands, fastened at the top with floret buttons, form the chandelier body. A twisted iron rod runs down the center of the chandelier, ending in a cluster of leaves. The wrought iron chandelier arms each support a double-layer foliate bobeche; the chandelier finishes in a dangling brass leaf finial. Below, the bands flare out to become chandelier arms, each supporting a crenellated bobeche. The chandelier finishes in a fleur-de-lis finial. Bronze bands accented with red polychrome details form the chandelier body, with a second row of wreaths and prisms halfway down. The center of the chandelier features a crystal baluster ornamented with flowers and leaves, atop a cluster of green polychrome leaves. Each chandelier arm ends in a wreath, framing a polychrome foliate bobeche. The chandelier finishes in an unusual prism surrounded by teardrops. An inverted scalloped bowl at the bottom of the chandelier holds a row of prisms, with a faceted glass ball in the center.
