Pewter lid marked 'HUNTER SHEFFIELD', jug impressed 'PAXTON' and various numbers.
Date code for 1877.

Rare ‘Rodney Sailor’ toby jug, modeled as a man on a seachest with an anchor at his feet, a jug & mug in his hands, with a wide had decorated with unusual sponged brown flowers, the coat, base and back with imitation of a Wheildon-type glaze.
