Pre-Victorian, circa 1820 Pair Staffordshire Pearlware figures both titled ''AGE'' and modeled as an elderly lady and gentleman. He leans on a crutch under his right arm, and a walking stick in his left hand. She leans on a walking stick with her right hand, and carries a basket of fruit over her left arm. Both modeled on a naturalistic mound upon a square, red lined, plinth base. Decorated all round. Vent hole to underside of bases. Generally good. No restoration. Gent: Kiln effect: glaze pops to coat. Restored chip to underside. Restored flake to three of the base corners. Lady: Kiln effect: glaze pops to coat. Restored chip to base front. Front legs molded free. Dull gilt decoration to the bases. Good. Gilt rubbed. Liver&white: Kiln effects: shrinkage line to hind legs; small touch mark to front right base corner. Restored flake to nose and a few around the lower base edge. Repaired hairline to front legs, and another to tail. Repaired shrinkage line to neck.
