Very Collectable Art Deco Slip Shade Five Light Chandelier by Globe Globe Lighting Fixture Mfg Co. was located in Brooklyn, NY on 7th Avenue and 12th street. They were not as big as companies like Lincoln or Markel, but they did make some very interesting, and uniquely different, Art Deco lights....which are now harder to find. This 5 slip shade chandelier, which was top of the line for this series, is just such a hard-to-find and collectable light. It was stock numbered 4215 in their catalog of 1934-35. The cast iron frame has bold and striking lines, and is finished in a pewter look with highlights. The shades are a nice, light amber, and will be shown very much nicer once brighter light bulbs are installed. Our pictures are only taken with 11 watt bulbs so as to not blow-out the focus of the camera lens. We have totally re-wired this collectable chandelier in our UL shop with medium base sockets and new supply wire. All sockets can handle 100 watt bulbs, but we recommend no higher than 60 - 65 watts if you are using incandescent light bulbs. This limit helps to protect the antique glass slip shades from excessive heat. If greater lumen output is desired, compact fluorescent and LED bulbs make great substitutions. Measurements: * Height: 30" overall, measured from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the finial. * Diameter: 17 ½" overall. Art Deco Pair of Antique Slip Shade Wall Sconces by Riddle A nice pair of Art Deco sconces made by Riddle, and pictured in their catalog of 1935. Riddle was located in Toledo, Ohio and in 1932, was known as The Edward N. Riddle Company until they shortened the name before 1935. Riddle did not use names for their lighting series, only stock numbers. In this line, there were chandeliers with various support types, and two wall sconces...including this one. This pair of nice sconces are finished in a pewter finish, and have an air of Streamline Deco to them. The shades show a mock floral motif...but...still remain Deco. This design crossed a few decorative motifs. The shades are amber, and in good...remarkable...condition. These sconces have been completely re-wired in our UL shop with new sockets. The sockets can easily handle 100 watt incandescent bulbs, but you might wish to consider using a limit of 60 - 65 watts if choosing incandescent light bulbs. Higher wattage incandescent light bulbs output so much heat that they can damage antique glass shades. If better light yield is needed, we recommend substituting LED or compact fluorescent light bulbs. Outstanding original, antique, six light chandelier circa 1935-37. Made by Lincoln Lighting Products of Detroit, Michigan. Lincoln called this line "The Ambassador Line," and it was even sold through Sears during the 1930s. With very clean Streamline lines, it is an Art Deco Streamline iconic chandelier. Nicely documented as to who made it, what it was called, and even who sold it. And...in GREAT condition too. This six shade version was the Top-of-the-Line for this Ambassador Series, so when you have this one, you have the best of this interesting series. As curators of the only American Art Deco Lighting Museum, we are familiar with this very neat chandelier. This chandelier has been rewired in our UL shop, and it still has the ambiance of a 1930s light. Six new high end sockets with wiring were installed. European Alabaster Art Deco Large Chandelier with Eight Lights Judging by the sockets and wiring that came with this fantastic chandelier, it was made in Italy or France. That is where the really nice alabaster comes from. And even for its age, it is in good condition. Age is not easily distinguished, but the Art Deco Lady figures help in two ways. First, they are old composition made, and second...they are Deco in origin. We know it is an older chandelier, but the Deco designs and the mixed metal structure are hard to pin point. The metal has had a European subdued white wash applied, and we did not touch this finish as it appeals to many. An outstanding chandelier. Measurements: * Diameter: A significant diameter of 38 ½ shade tip to shade tip. * Height: 53" currently, which could be adjusted for other heights if desired. Please contact us for pricing. In our UL shop, we changed the little European sockets to American medium based sockets for normal medium base bulbs. American Art Deco Pair of Slip Shade Wall Sconces by Lincoln A great set of Art Deco sconces made by Lincoln Mnf Co, Detroit, MI in the mid 30s. Lincoln called the group that these sconces came from the "Oriental Reversible," which had a fancy logo that also said "Two in One" with a picture of a large 1 with a 2 inside of it. They were quite proud that they found a way to use a shade either upwards...or downwards without any changes. And...yes...these shades can be turned upside down too. Lincoln's catalog described this series as such: "The shades on these fixtures can be used either up or down. Simply lift off and rehook in a reversed position." The frames still maintain a bit of touches of color, and the finish is totally original. The deeply carved shades are gold-amber and in good...remarkable...condition for their age. Measurements: * Height: 10" overall. * Width: 4 ½" maximum. * Projection: 6" from the wall into the room. Interesting that Mid-West used the same finial on this fixture as they used with their Soleure line, as it is such an iconic design and representative of their fine company. Mid-West was an outstanding company that survived the Depression that took many other light manufacturers out. They had a high standard that they never lowered, and their resulting work shows just that. This fine light has an original old gold metal finish in outstanding condition for its age. Very Unusual Art Deco Odeon Style British Motif Theatre Table Lights Very neat shell motif set of British theater table lamps from England. These lights are often called "Odeon," since one of the main movie house chains in Britain named all their theaters "Odeon." They vary in style...most popular was THIS shell motif. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century, or more. Odeon is sometimes a synonymous term for a movie theater in Britain. Saying, "Let's go to the Odeon" is the same as saying, "Let's go to the movies." Saying all that...this is the first pair of Odeon table lamps that we have ever had. Don't know what they were used for...but they did have British bayonet pin sockets in them when received. The table lamps have brass bases, which have an antiqued bronze finish. We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new American sockets in our UL shop. They do have short cords with in-line switches. Art Deco Odeon Theatre Antique 3 Clamshell Slip Shade Chandelier A very neat shell motif British theatre chandelier. This chandelier (and the sconces that match it) are often called Odeon Lights, since the main movie house chain in Britain has named all their theatres Odeon. In fact...Odeon is often a synonymous term for a movie theatre, i.e. "Let's go to the Odeon." This chandelier was used with frosted, amber, and even pink tinted shades around the turn of the century. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century, or more. The shades came out in the pictures just a touch darker than they really are. I would say an accurate description of the shade color would be light amber, NOT as dark as the pictures appear. There is minor rubbing on the frame (pictured) due to its age, which should not affect the impression of the fixture, but we thought to mention it. Measurements: * Height: 17" tall, measured from the top of the canopy to the bottom of the finial. * Width: 14 ½" We have rewired this chandelier to UL American standards in our UL listed shop, with a new American center socket cluster for three light bulbs. Antique Art Deco Slip Shade Fenwick Pendant Circa 1933 Authentic Art Deco, slip shade, polychrome painted 2 shade pendant, circa 1933. The finish, while being cleaned up a mite, is original and simply beautiful to the max. Hard to find a much nicer antique slip shade pendant than this one. Wonderful condition. The shades are simply a treat, and in remarkable condition. Probably made by Consolidated Glass, or another quality glass house. Since we are curators of the Kelly Art Deco Light Museum, we can tell you a bit about this light. It was made by a firm in Cleveland, Ohio called: The Frankelite Co. They had a logo which was a stylized "F" in a diamond device, and issued their products under the trade name of Diamond Lighting Equipment. This light, Circa 1933, was part of their "Fenwick Series". Frankelite was a rather small firm that very little is known about. We have a few examples of their work, and they are always rather unique and attractive stand-alone lights. The name and date of these fixtures has been verified by literature from the company as 1933.
