Set of 6 demitasse / teaspoons made of enameled sterling silver in the Arts and Crafts style. Birmingham, England 1924. Come in original fitted box.Each spoon is 3 5/8inches long.Might have come straight out of Liberty & Co. Strong Arts and Crafts influence seen in the floral theme of blue, green, yellow and white enamel.Original box with brass clasp in good condition and silk and velvet lining mint.Each spoon is hallmarked on the back: Maker T&S, Birmingham, Sterling mark and date mark Z (1924).Excellent condition of the enamel indicates that the spoons were never used. Sterling silver, gilt washed, French silver ladle, dating from the 19th century in the Art Nouveau style.Measures 12 1/4inches long.Weighs a little over 3 oz.Round bowl is gilt washed and has a fine spout - clearly to ladle a thin liquid, such as punch.A silver hallmark is on the side of the bowl, near the rim. The long handle is typically Art Nouveau with scrolls and flowers - all very delicate, elegantand assymetric. Reserves where a monogram could be engraved are blank. Condition is excellent. Sterling silver toddy punch ladle. Long handle is partly silver, partly twisted whale bone. Probably early to mid 19th century.Measures 16 1/4inches long.Scalloped, fluted oval bowl. Beautifully designed so that the center of the bowl looks like a flower. Handle curves away from the bowl and then twists for a number of inches before flaring to a tube that holds and secures the extention whale part of the handle. The nails used are hand made, which dates the ladle to the early 19th century. The wooden part of the handle is carved into a twisted echo of the silver, and ends in an oval knob.There are two hallmarks in lozenges on the back of the handle. One is the number 57 and the other is not in any of the silver books I looked in. Condition is very good. No damage of any sort. Whiting Manufacturing Company sterling silver berry serving spoon. Made 19th century before the company was taken over by Gorham. Measures 8 3/4inches and weighs about 4oz.Large berry spoon. The ruffle-edged deep bowl with raised scrolls, ridges and circles. The handel is richly decorated with repousse roses and scrolls. A delicate monogram near the edge with GWB initial. Fabulous quality work. Back has the company symbol and STERLING embossed. Very good condition. M Dolan in her book American Sterling Silver Flatware has this to say pg 210: The silver flatware of this company is still monumentally underpriced and when prices begin to reflect true value, both actual and historic, it will probably be too late to begin a collection. This company really represents the pot ofsilver at the end of the rainbow. A knowledgeable person emailed:The pattern is Roses & Scrolls discontinued in 1890. Pretty spoon! 19th century Art Nouveau sterling silver picture/photograph frame, made by the Gorham company. Measures 5 1/4inches high and 3 1/4inches wide. Stand alone frame. The back is covered with a deep plum coloured velvet which may be original. The frame itself in beautiful repousse silver with scrolls and roses on the top two corners. The center is a rolling wave, very ornate. Great quality and workmanship. Engraved mark on the side reads GORHAM STERLING 321. No dings/dents.
