Then this stands on the bottom half which is a cabinet with two cupboards and two drawers, all with ample storage. The walnut is gorgeous, you can see all the grains and whorlls to the wood. The bookcase is nearly 8 feet tall so it's a large item. The top half is glass fronted and lined with fabric so great for displaying all your collectibles and books. The bottom half has doors and further storage space. The crafting on this piece is superb - it's solid and sturdy, the finish to the wood is amazing, scratch and ding free. It's a sumptuous piece in need of a good home. To the wood is some intricate inlay work in the shape of the cross banding and arabesques. There are also some intricate ormolu fixtures including the classical female heads on the columns and the cartouches. We bought this from a dealer on London's Kings Road and will ship to anywhere in the world. It is offered in great shape and will make a great investment for your home. The top half opens out via the glass doors to reval ample bookshelf space. The glass has a wooden latticed affect to the front which is also Gothic in style. Then we move the bottom half with the desk section which opens out to reveal the green leather writing surface plus also the cubby holes and drawers. It's a great space safer as you get both a desk and a bookcase. Underneath this are the four drawers that open out smoothly to reveal further storage space. The piece also features some intricate marquetry work including the rosette on the pull down section and the cross banding. Description: This is a lovely set of twelve French Country oak spindleback chairs with rush seats. They came from the Northern area of France. The chairs have a design which comes from a spindle shape on the back rest to the seat. The legs are gracefully curved with turned feet. They have stretchers from the front to the back. The color is a rich dark brown oak with a warm patina. They were recently polished and waxed in our workshops and are ready to go into your home. The rush seats are shaped and the backs are slightly slanted, making the chairs very comfortable. They are very solid and sound. There are ten straight chairs and two armchairs.
