This is a fascinating pair of antique cast bronze Gothic Revival sconces with glass shades, dating from the 1920’s. Each sconce features a cast bronze rectangular backplate with a Gothic arch; a bracket-shaped arm with a trefoil cutout supports a shade holder hanging from a long chain. Each shade holder features a trefoil finial and supports a white glass shade ornamented with Gothic arches and trefoils. These single-arm wall lamps are in excellent condition; they have been professionally rewired. The shades are in good antique condition with some chips on the rim of one (pictured) that are not visible when the shade is attached to the sconce. An elegant antique Neoclassical five-light chandelier in its original silver plate, dating from the 1920’s, with original glass shades. The chandelier begins with a keyhole-shaped loop finial formed of volutes; below, the baluster-shaped chandelier body is ornamented with egg-and-dart detail and leaves, ending in a foliate finial. Five reeded and silver plated chandelier arms, swathed in leaves, extend from the chandelier body to support simple shade holders with gadrooned white shades. The leaves on the chandelier arms are hung with sleek, elongated teardrop prisms. This light fixture is in very good antique condition with a beautifully aged finish; the shades are in good antique condition with a chip on the edge of one shade (pictured) and the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. The chandelier begins with a bead-and-reel canopy, coming down in a chain to a beaded volute finial atop a trumpet-shaped section. Below, the pan light has five arms beautifully detailed with volutes and acanthus leaves. Each arm supports a simple shade holder, each with a gorgeous reverse-painted glass shade with a blue and green floral border. Each shade is unique, with subtle variations in the flowers and coloring. The chandelier finishes in a foliate finial.
