ANT-518 Antique Art Deco 5 Light Slip Shade Fenwick Chandelier c 1933
Authentic Art Deco, Slip Shade, polychrome painted 5 shade chandelier, Circa 1933. The finish, while being cleaned up a mite, is original, and simply beautiful to the max. Hard to find a much nicer antique slip shade chandelier than this one. Wonderful condition!
The shades are simply a treat and in remarkable condition. Probably made by Consolidated Glass, or another quality glass house.
This chandelier was made by a firm in Cleveland, Ohio called The Frankelite Co. They had a logo which was a stylized "F" in a diamond device, and issued their products under the trade name of Diamond Lighting Equipment.
The fixture was part of their "Fenwick Series" Model 1255. The catalog says it has a spread of 21", but they actually rounded that figure up from 20 ½". Very little is known about Frankelite, which was a rather small firm. We have a few examples of their work, and they are always rather unique and attractive stand-alone lights. The name and date of these fixtures has been verified by literature from the company as 1933.
Measurements:
Height: 31" (This fixture can be lengthened by adding chain links.)
Diameter: Approximately 21", as previously mentioned.
The chandelier has been totally rewired with high grade sockets and new central lead wire in our UL shop. Capable of up to 100 watts per socket, for a total of 500 watts. However, if the decision is made to use incandescent light bulbs, we recommend using no higher than 60 - 65 watts to protect the fragile slip shades from excessive heat. Greater light output can be achieved using cooler compact fluorescent or LED light bulbs.
Price: The completely re-wired UL antique chandelier by Frankelite is $1,375.00 plus $50.00 for careful Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and International Customers: We gladly ship our listings to customers worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated and invoiced separately on a per-order basis. ANT-517 Very Collectable Art Deco Slip Shade 6 Light Chandelier by Globe
Globe Lighting Fixture Mfg Co. was located in Brooklyn, NY on 7th Avenue and 12th Street. They were not as big as companies like Lincoln or Markel, but they did make some very interesting, uniquely different...and now harder to find Art Deco lights.
This 5 slip shade with one bottom shade chandelier is just such a hard-to-find and collectable light. The elements are leaning more towards the Streamline Deco.
We have totally re-wired this collectable chandelier in our UL shop with medium base sockets and new supply wire. All 5 slip shade sockets can handle regular size light bulbs, but the bottom shade just does not have the room for such a large bulb...but still...does not need it, since this is a lovely accent shade.
Measurements:
Height: 17" overall. The length can be increased for a small additional charge.
Diameter: 20"
Wattage for the 5 Slip Shades: The sockets in the five slip shades are common household E26 medium base size, rated for up to 100 watts.
Wattage for the Bottom Shade: Candelabra base socket, rated for up to 25 watts; bottom shade size constraints allow a C7 size night light bulb.
If incandescent light bulbs are to be used in the chandelier, we recommend no more than 60 - 65 watts to protect the fragile antique glass from excessive heat. Compact fluorescent or LED light bulbs are recommend for more light output, as these operate at cooler temperatures.
The complete UL chandelier with original slip shades: $984.50...plus $50.00 for careful Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
Residents of Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and International Customers: We gladly ship our listings to customers worldwide. Shipping costs are calculated and invoiced separately on a per-order basis. ANT-525 Art Deco Mid-West Mnf. Top-of-the-Line Six Light Chandelier with Original Shades
This chandelier was the best from the line that Mid-West called: The Beverly. Nice design, which has the more Streamline motif of the 1936 Deco era.
The finish is old gold finish with nickel accents. Very striking. This fixture could be lengthened by adding chain links.
The chandelier has been totally rewired with high grade sockets, and new central lead wire. Sockets are UL approved for up to 100 watts for the outside slip shades. If incandescent light bulbs are to be used, we recommend using a conservative 60 - 65 watts to protect the fragile antique glass shades from excessive heat. There is one socket for each slip shade, and two sockets for the bottom disk, which takes smaller bulbs.
Measurements:
* Height: 22" tall. Can be lengthened for your project by adding chain links for a small additional cost.
* Diameter: 19"
Comes complete with shades, and ready to hang. Price: $984.50, plus $50.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-527 American Pair of Truly Iconic Art Deco Design Sconces
Circa 1930s, these sconces are finished in an oil rubbed bronze (near black) finish with highlights. The sconces have interesting opal shade, which has a simple band of rings near the rim.
The shade is rather short, so a large light bulb will protrude. We suggest using a short profile LED light bulb, such as a type A15 or S14 with an E26 base. We will include two short LED bulbs as a courtesy.
Electrical: The sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop, with normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs. The backplate has a rotary switch for on and off. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
One backplate has a minor imperfection (with a repair), which is hardly noticeable, but must be mentioned. It does not distract from the overall affect of these sconces.
Measurements:
Height: 8 ½"
Width: 4 ½" (maximum)
Projection: 5" from the wall into the room.
For the complete, UL re-wired pair of sconces: $423.50 plus $25.00 for Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-531 Solid Bronze Art Deco Slip Shade Chandelier by Mid West Mnf
So nice to be able to offer another really fine light to you. Here we have one of the scarce lights of the Deco era from Mid West Mfg Circa 1935. This is the 5 light Soleure chandelier.
Mid West only made the best quality lighting. This chandelier is solid bronze with a great finish. The castings are so beautiful, with lots of pierced parts which are...were...so hard to do, as any casting man will tell you. The finish does have some minor variations, but it also has a nice mellow appearance, and most antiquers would not touch this lovely...aged bronze...finish. It is simply beautiful.
This light has been totally re-wired (in our UL registered shop) with five new sockets, and a new main stem wire.
Measurements:
* Height: 30", but can be made longer by special request. Additional fee applies for customization.
* Diameter: 20" shade tip to shade tip.
* Ceiling Canopy: 7" in diameter.
The five shades are in excellent condition, with no chips or cracks, and they all match each other very well.
A full mounting kit will be supplied...so nothing more to buy...except light bulbs.
For the complete, UL re-wired chandelier with shades: $1,815.00 plus $50.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-534 Unusual Art Deco Odeon Style British Motif Theatre Sconces
A very neat shell motif set of the British theater sconces from England. These sconces are often called "Odeon Sconces," since one of the main movie house chains in Britain named all their theaters "Odeon".
They vary in style...most popular was THIS shell motif. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more. Odeon is sometimes a synonymous term for a movie theater in Britain. "Let's go to the Odeon" is the same as saying, "let's go to the movies."
There are two things that make this particular pair of Odeon sconces different and unusual. First...the shades are TRUE OPAL color. We have never had opal shades in Odeon sconces before. We have seen frosted, amber, pink, and even green...but never opal. Secondly, each sconce has an array of three E12 (chandelier style) sockets. Usually, these sconces have only ONE socket. The result of having three sockets is a nice, even lighting effect, which is simply lovely through the opal shades.
The sconces have brass frames with an antiqued red bronze finish.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new American chandelier sockets in our UL shop. We installed our cute LED chandelier bulbs in each sconce, and will leave them in for the next owner, as we just think that these give the perfect ambiance. So, these are ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will also supply.
Measurements:
* Height: 8 ½"
* Width: 10"
* Projection: 4 ½" from the wall into the room.
As mentioned, these fine sconces use chandelier bulbs, either incandescent or LEDs. In this case, we are including 6 pcs. of our LED bulbs for these high-end sconces.
Price: $715.00 for this great pair of UL rewired Odeon sconces with opal shades and triple sockets...plus $25.00 for careful packing and Ground Shipping within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-537 Antique Restored Reticulated Frame Art Deco Slip Shade Wall Sconces
True high-end quality original cast solid BRONZE antique frames with a lovely reddish-bronzed finish. The frame is showing a contrasting color variation, due to its age, but it does reflect the total age and care of this antique. Circa 1930.
These Art Deco Slip Shade sconces were the only sconces made for this series of slip shade lights. It is difficult to cast reticulated backplates, as any casting man will tell you. The bronzed finish is simply superb.
These fixtures are in such nice condition. The shades, too, are simply in fantastic condition, with old amber finish displaying dashes of clear design.
Measurements:
* Height: 12"
* Width: 5 ¼"
* Projection: 5" from the wall into the room.
These sconces have been completely rewired in our UL shop, with new sockets and all new wire. We have also replaced the switches with new, rotary style on/off switches...same as the original Leviton switches made from the 1920s until just a few years ago.
Ready to go...nothing needs to be done except add the light bulbs of your choice.
Price: Completely UL re-wired, with original BRONZE finish and shades: $935.00 plus $25.00 for careful packaging and Ground Shipping to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-541 Fantastic Art Deco Streamline Sconces with Black Line Step Shades
Really, have not seen a pair of sconces with a more fantastic Streamline Design than these More »
ANT-541 Fantastic Art Deco Streamline Sconces with Black Line Step Shades
Really, have not seen a pair of sconces with a more fantastic Streamline Design than these beauties. Wish we knew who made them, but so scarce, no literature could be found, even though we spent considerable time in our museum library.
History: we originally received four of these sconces from a building that was rumored to be a money management office before the Depression..but..folded DURING the Depression. Wouldn't it be interesting if these sconces could talk? Must have been some interesting conversations of that time, in that area.
We received four...BUT...only two could be salvaged. The other two looked like they were hit by hammers, and were badly dented. Additionally, we also only received three shades...one of those three was badly damaged. The result...ONE restoreable PAIR, and they are here presented.
Outstanding Art Deco Streamline design is presented with this pair of sconces. Circa 1920 - 1930. Construction is by mixed metals and nickel plating. We did completely disassemble each sconce for cleaning, and then polished them for preservation, since they were coated with paint drips, stains and storage gunk.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new sockets in our UL shop. Each sconce contains a normal UL approved porcelain medium base socket capable of 150 watts. But, in the interest of the antique glassware...we would use lower wattage bulbs. We also replaced the original rotary switches which are tucked into the area behind the shade and cannot be seen. So, these are ready to hang with a standard light mounting kit which we will also supply.
Measurements:
* Height: 10 ½"
* Width: 7"
* Projection: 7 ½" from the wall into the room.
Price: $1,375.00 for this outstanding pair of UL rewired Streamline sconces with their great Streamline design, and stepped, black line, opal shades...plus $25.00 for careful shipping charges to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-540 Antique Art Deco Streamline Design Slip Shade Sconces
Art Deco Streamline design is presented with this pair of sconces. Circa 1936 or so, they are iconic for Streamline design and minimalism in lighting.
Often confused with commercial sconces, they do have that minimal function that could be confused...however...matches well with other simple Streamline designs.
While the sconce frames have been thoroughly cleaned, there is some deterioration to the metal BEHIND the shades. This reflects their age, and probably the way they were stored for 60 to 80 years. Luckily...the visible parts of these sconces are maintained rather well.
The heavy, thick shades are amber in color, and in great condition.
Measurements:
* Height: 8 ½"
* Width: 5"
* Projection: 3 ¾" from the wall into the room.
We have rewired these sconces to UL American standards with new sockets in our UL shop. We also replaced the rotary switches at the bottom of the sconce. So, these are ready to hang with a standard light mounting kit, which we will also supply.
Sockets are rated for up to 100 watts, but we recommend a conservative 60 - 65 watts if incandescent light bulbs will be used. This will help protect the fragile slip shades from excessive heat, which could potentially damage them. If more light is needed, compact fluorescent or LED light bulbs are a good substitute...these efficient bulbs operate at cooler temperatures, but emit more lumens per watt consumed.
Price: $715.00 for this great pair of UL rewired sconces, with their great Streamline design and amber slip shades...plus $25.00 for careful shipping charges to addresses within the contiguous 48 states.

ANT-533 Very Nice Art Deco Streamline Metal and Glass Light Fixture Circa 1930+
While the '30s are most famous for slip shade fixtures, there were other types of lights being made during that time, including various ceiling bowls. Sometimes all glass...sometimes metal and glass...as we have here.
This ceiling bowl has some iconic touches for the Art Deco period. The standard yellow color used on so much Art Deco, and then contrasting with the nickel colored metal rims that have those grooved Streamline designs. Add to that an amber glass center with great design, and you have a different Art Deco offering. Not to forget the glass flowers on the outside of the bowl. Yes...very interesting Streamline designed Art Deco ceiling bowl that is not easily confused with a different period or motif.
Measurements:
* Height: 13"
* Diameter: 16"
We have rewired this fixture to UL American standards, in our UL shop, with new American porcelain chandelier sockets. There are two regular medium base (E26) sockets (each capable of 100 watts), but another pair could be added if more wattage is desired. Ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will also supply.
Price: $495.00 for this UL rewired ceiling fixture...plus $35.00 for shipping within the contiguous 48 states.
