Remarkable, hard-to-find figural cast bronze doorplates in P. & F. Corbin's "Empire" pattern, marked with an 1889 patent date. Each doorknob backplate features an inner panel of scrolling foliage and two figural beasts at the bottom. The plate's four corners feature fabulous sunburst detail. Beautiful antique door hardware sets, circa 1900, with doorknobs and plates. These door knob sets feature extra-wide 2-3/4” backplates, which are very helpful in covering larger holes in doors. The doorknobs feature a fourfold design with leaves and volutes forming a square shape in the middle; the door plates have a pointed leaf and scroll design at both the top and bottom. The door knobs measure 2-1/4” in diameter and 2-1/4” deep; the plates are 7-3/4” by 2-3/4”. Each set includes a pair of doorknobs with the connecting spindle and set screws, and a pair of doorplates (enough hardware for one door).
