Circa 1920's, these sconces are rather nice. A lovely pewter finished backplate with a nicely shaped cast arm with fine detail on the backplate, makes this set of three very attractive indeed. The detail includes fine dimpling border with curled scroll to the top. Especially nice is the way the arm flows from the center design. The custard colored panel shades are totally original and in very good condition. Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied. A very nice set of three American made late 20's sconces. Measurements: 9 1/2" tall. The shade has a maximum diameter of 5 3/8", while the backplate has a maximum width of 4 3/4". Projects into a room from the wall 6 1/2". A marvelous antique Art Deco slip shade chandelier, signed by J. C. Virden and dating from the 1930’s. This three-light chandelier begins a large, cutout geometric piece with a hammered surface. The slipper shades are a beautiful golden yellow color and feature a stylized flower and a geometric border. The cast iron chandelier frame is ornamented cutouts mirroring the design on the shades. This light fixture is in excellent condition with no cracks or breaks to the glass, just the expected fleabites around the rims. The chandelier has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. Outstanding antique Art Deco chandelier with original glass body, salvaged out of Cincinnati, Ohio and dating from the 1930s. This rare chandelier begins in a simple canopy and chain, working down to a round loop finial. The upper body features a crimped tail and ziggurat dome base. The lower body is an abstracted bowl made of original glass that features grooved ribs around the upper edge, gadrooned glass, and a textured cylindrical piece at the bottom. This chandelier is in very good condition with the expected fleabites around the edges and one small chip to the inner body, as pictured, that is only visible if looking down on the chandelier. This wall lamp features a geometric pattern backplate with ribbing and foliate details; the bottom has a spear finial. The upward facing shade holder features leaf, ziggurat, and banded details; behind it is the original white glass. A fantastic antique six-light Art Deco chandelier, dating from the 1930’s, in its original darkened nickel finish over bronze. Found in Louisville, KY, the chandelier begins with an Art Deco canopy ornamented with a bold zigzag design, coming down in a chain to an angular loop finial. Five white glass panels surround a light in the center of the chandelier. The five chandelier arms extend between the panels, ornamented with flowers, scrolls, and geometric designs. The bottom of the chandelier features a stepped design finishing a finial. This light fixture is in excellent condition; it has been professionally rewired and comes with all the necessary attachments for modern installation. A very neat shell motif British theatre chandelier. This chandelier (and sconces that match it) are often called Odeon Lights, since the main movie house chain in Britain has named all their theatres Odeon . In fact... Odeon is often a synonymous term for a movie theatre, i.e. " Let's go to the Odeon ." This chandelier was used with frosted, amber, and even pink tinted shades around the turn of the century. In older British theaters, you can still see them existing where they have been for over half a century or more. We have rewired this chandelier to UL American standards in our UL listed shop, with a new American center socket cluster for three bulbs. One bulb lights each shade, so 300 watts can be achieved with this chandelier if 100 watt bulbs are used. There is minor rubbing on the frame (pictured) due to its age, which should not affect the impression of the fixture, but we thought to mention it. The chandelier is ready to hang with an American standard light mounting kit which we will supply. Fine Streamline Art Deco six shade chandelier...Circa 1935 - 37 made by Mid-West Mnf of North Kansas City, MO. They called this series: The Beverly. And this top-of-the-line chandelier was numbered 2305 for ordering. The six shade versions of any light were always top-of-the-line for all Art Deco slip shade series from every company. This nice chandelier is finished in a mixed nickel and what Mid-West called their Venetian Bronze finish. It was also available in a nice old gold finish with nickel highlights during the '30s. It was definitely a contrast that was part of the Streamline statement in lighting. This chandelier has been totally re-wired with new sockets and wires in our UL approved shop, and is ready to go. We will even supply a mounting kit so you can have it hung-up in no time. Nice original finish and shades. The finish is a mite thin in places...like an old Persian carpet, with the minor metal showing some of its 80 or so years...but the condition is considered good for the age of the fixture. Measurements: Height: 22", but can be increased by adding more chain. (Information courtesy Kelly Art Deco Light Museum) The backplates have a pewter hi/lo finish, and are quite nice. They have been restored (cleaned up) and re-lacquered. The shades are embossed (like carving) and the design is excellent. Electrical: These sconces have been totally re-wired in our UL shop. Normal bakelite sockets for everyday medium base bulbs have been installed just like the originals. A rotary on/off switch has been renewed as well. The sconce mounts with one normal sconce mounting all-thread to a normal electrical box from within the case. All mounting hardware will be supplied.
