Hans Teppich was born in Germany in 1904. After finishing High-School in Berlin he learned woodcarving and worked in a furniture factory for three years. During this period he studied art in evening classes, and then continued studying for ten more years in morning classes in the â€œKunstgewerbe und Handwerkerschuleâ€ in Berlin. He acquired a broad range of art education, including: drawing, sculpture, metalwork, bronze casting, metal turning, and interior design. Hans Teppich won many prizes during his studies for different projects in which he participated. His bronze and stone sculptures of animals were presented in an exhibition at the Berlin Zoo. « Less

Two large spelter figures of Roman women, measuring almost 20" in height. There is no structural damage, just a lot of paint loss throughout on one while the other has right hand finger loss and is beginning to separate from the base (still attached though). One woman has a spear by her side. Both pieces are entirely metal, including the base. No maker marks to be found. An early pair for sure, late 1800's or early 1900's, maybe even earlier. A little restoration and these will be a beauty. Full period wardrobe and excellent facial figures. The bases match each other. « Less

Here we have a stone statue of a woman picking flowers, looks to be roses. We can't find any maker marks but the piece is very well executed. Total height of 15 3/4". Superb detailing throughout, flowing dress, rose petals, facial features- just very well done. There is a small nic on the front of her hair and her left big toe is missing the tip, otherwise good condition. The piece is cold to the touch and heavy. The bottom of the base is wood. « Less
