Interesting pair of antique bronze sphinx furniture mounts. They are in excellent condition ready to adorn a piece of furniture. The backs are open. There is an opening where a screw would go between their feet to secure to the furniture. The sphinx measure 5 inches long and 3 inches high. They are very unusual and very well sculptured. They date circa late 1800s. The condition is excellent and they are signed on the inner portion of the wing. Please click photo enlargements for details of the markings. Rare antique polychrome Vienna bronze leprechaun kneeling with his pants down piling up gold coins that are coming out of his behind. Looks like the leprechaun has piled up quite a few coins already. The underside has the Bergman foundry stamp. Much of the original cold paint patina is still intact on this piece. We have never seen this model before it is a very rare one dating circa 1900. It measures a little over 2 inches high and 1-1/4 inches deep. The widest width from elbow to elbow is 1-1/4 inches. Rare antique Bergman Vienna bronze lovers circa 1900. The lovers are actually a shepard and his girlfriend. These figures were made to go inside of the Bergman box that has the Shepard's staff and hat on the top, but no shepherd. When you would flip the box over the underside has the shepherd and his girlfriend making love. We've only owned one other of this model in our more than 45 years in the antique business. That model was the complete box with the shepherd and his lover. What we have here is the bronze shepard and lover without the box. This item is pictured in Joe Zobel's book on antique Vienna bronzes. We've never seen it for sale before without the box. With the box and the lover's combined it is a $10,000.00 item. Someone clearly framed these two lovers so they may be enjoyed hung on a wall to admire the beautiful sculpture and tenderness of the embracing couple. With the box, this shepherd and his lover sells for $10,000.00 if and when you may be able to find another one. Our asking price of $1,600.00 is a real bargain considering its price with the box. We were very fortunate to be able to find this piece already framed ready to be hung on the wall and enjoyed by its new owner. Beautiful antique French gilt and silvered bronze sculpture signed Anfrie, an important French 19th and early 20th century sculptor considered one of the finest 19th century French sculptors. The image depicts a beautiful nude lady wearing only her silvered head piece and silvered arm bracelets. She stands on a low table. By the sides of the table are her silvered high button shoes. The back of the table has her gilt and silvered plumed hat. The quality of this sculpture is phenomenal. She actually looks alive. It is a very unusual sculpture because she appears to be thumbing her nose. She has a beautiful face, beautiful body, and is anatomically a perfect sculpture. She measures 14 inches from the bottom of the table to the top of her head piece. From the bottom of her feet to the top of her head piece measures 11-1/2 inches. The base is 4-3/4 inches deep by 4-3/4 inches wide. It is inscribed on the bottom of the base beneath one of the shoes ANFRIE. Weight 6 lbs. This is an extremely rare sculpture, the only one I have seen in my more than 45 years buying, selling, appraising, and collecting antique bronze sculptures. The pictures tell it all. Beautiful antique gilt bronze knight on horseback artist signed H. Muller with a foundry seal following the name. The bronze is beautifully detailed. The horse has detailed carving in his armor. The knight is holding his battle sword in one hand and a shield in the other. He has a very large winged figure attached to the back of his armor helmet, it looks like a battle helmet he would wear in combat. The detail of his armor is also very well sculptured. This is by far the most interesting and best sculptured German bronze knight in armor on horseback we have ever had the pleasures to see and offer for sale. The horse's head has a detailed carved winged head on his armor. This is a rare and very wonderfully sculptured antique bronze in excellent condition showing only very minor rubbing to the patina commensurate with age and handling. It is mounted on a two tier variegated green marble base. Very nice quality to the base as well as the bronze. To the top of the knight's sword it measures 15-1/2 inches. Not including the marble base it measures 11-1/2 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of the sword. Including the marble base it is15-1/2 inches. The knight's armored horse measures 11-1/2 inches from his head to his tail. The knight measures 7-3/4 inches high from the tip of his armored shoe to the top of his head. The base measures 10-1/4 inches wide, 4-1/4 inches deep. Weight 18.5 lbs. This is a wonderful bronze sure to please its new owner. Bronzes of this subject and quality are very rare and seldom found offered at any price. This model is illustrated in H. Berman "Bronze Sculptures & Founders 1800-1930". Pair of exquisite antique gilt bronze footed bowls with extraordinary detail. The central portions have a woman's head surrounded by a very ornate wreath with berries. The bottom portion of the top of the bowls have decorations of cherubs. One cherub is holding a mask head, the other a jester head on a stick, and the third is reclining and holding a bird in his hand. There is more decoration in relief consisting of urns, flowers and scroll decoration. Below that are three mythological women/bird sphinx-like figures supporting the bottom of the bowl. Below that is more ornate decorative relief sculptured work and below that is a very detailed and high relief base. The base of the gilt bronze bowl is attached to a heavy black marble base. The gold on this bronze is absolutely spectacular. These look like they came from a kings palace. Excellent condition. These are superb and extremely rare pieces worthy of the finest collection. Beautiful and very rare antique Vienna bronze bare chested female dancing jester. She is sculptured wearing her 3 bell jester hat and her jester's skirt. Her belt has the original dangling jeweled bells that a jester would wear in the 18th century. This is a very rare and extraordinary antique Vienna bronze sculpture. It is mounted on its original specimen marble and bronze base. The jester is very beautiful very lifelike, showing great motion and extremely high quality sculptural details. In her hand she holds a long wand with a little jester head. Even the little jester head is such high quality that the face looks alive. This piece has been in my own collection for many years. I have decided after collecting for more than 45 years to share my collection by offering select items on eBay to share with the world. This is one of my most favorite Vienna bronzes. It is an extremely rare model, the only one I have seen in my more than 45 years buying, selling, and collecting antique bronze sculptures. From the bottom of the base to the highest point of her hat she measures 9-1/2 inches. From the tip of her toe to her left hand she measures 8-1/4 inches. She is on the original marble base that the artist sculptured her to be on. The jester, not including the marble base, from the bottom of her foot to the top of her head piece is 7 inches. The condition is superb. All the jeweled simulated bells on her hat and belt are intact and original to the piece. If you collect only the rarest and highest quality Vienna bronzes you have found a worthy addition to your collection here. Under her skirt is signed TITZE AUSTRIA. This is the ultimate dancing jester antique Vienna bronze sculptured by a very important and well listed Vienna bronze sculptor who worked form the late 19th to the early 20th century.
