Victorian, circa 1870 Small George Jones Majolica dish modeled with a fox clambering over the rim at the back of the dish, forming the handle. His tail curls around the front. Ochre basket effect dish exterior. Mottled cobalt, brown and ochre glazed interior. Stilt mark inside the foot. Unmarked, but attributed to George Jones. Good. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. On the ground are two small pigs, a basket of eggs and bundles of hay. The lady is holding a baby in her arms and the man is holding a stick. Decorated all round. Generally good. No hairlines. Chips to bocage with ends recolored. Chip to basket handle. Flake to the lady''s nose, basket rim and another to one egg. A few to the vicar''s hands. Kiln effects: shrinkage crack to one hay bundle.
