The piece bears makers marks for the Minton pottery. Bears a pattern number, ''1323''. English diamond registration mark for the date 03/01/1868. Moth and two worms molded to the edge on mottled brown ground. Mossy ground and leaves in the center. Mottled brown ground to reverse. Two hanging holes on the foot. Yellow glaze inside the foot along with three stilt marks and impressed maker''s mark ''M.MAFRA CALDAS PORTUGAL''. Fair. No hairlines. Three large, shallow chips to the foot. Beautiful Royal Doulton Charger Plate, blue and gold background with pink and red floral design. On the back is the Royal Doulton emblem, made in England and the lion over the crown, there is a number 22 and Du227 5. hand-written below the symbol. This plate has the plate hanger attached on the back for hanging. There is a gold rim around the plate and it is 13 ½” around. And it is 1 3/8” thick, and weighs 3 lbs. It is in great condition.
