Circa 1850 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Cache Pot without the undertray. This little planter is cute as a button. It measures 2 1/8" in height and 3 3/8" in diameter at the top opening. The base measures 2 1/2" in diameter. Good rose medallion famille rose quality with alternating scenes of ladies in a court yard scene and a scene of a famille rose with a colorful bird. Unfortunately their is not a matching underplate for this nice flower pot.   « Less

Circa 1850 Chinese Export Rose Medallion six-sided Octagonal Shaped Cache Pot without the underplate. We presently have another one of these on our web site with the other one having the correct underplate. This one is a nice quality and is in good condition. No Restoration. 6" in height and 8 1/4" in diameter at the top. The top opening is 6 5/8". The bottom measurement needed to match up a underplate is 6 1/4" X 7 1/2". These last measurements are the ones needed to find a perfect six-sided underplate. Some gilding loss on the outside of the top rim. The panels with the ladies in the courtyard are in good condition and the other panels are nicely decorated with each having the same decoration of a very multi colorful bird in flight and a colorful yellow and black butterfly.   « Less

Circa 1890-1920 Chinese Export Blue and White 6-Sided Cache Pot. This cache pot is 6 1/2" in height and 9 1/4" in width at the top. The inside dimension at the top opening is 8 1/4" at the widest point. The only real reference book on "chinese export porcelain" was written by Herbert Schiffer a well known chinese exporet dealer from Pennsylvania who has since died. On pages 110 and 111 of his book Schiffer has examples of Cache Pots and #307 is the example that is the same as this piece.   « Less

Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Medallion 6-Sided Octagon Shaped Cache-Pot with the original underplate. The Cache Pot is 7" in height and 9 3/4" in width at the top. The inside dimension at that top opening is 8". The bottom diameter of the cache pot is 7 1/4" at the widest point and the outside dimension of the underplate is 9 5/8" and the inside dimension of the underplate is 7 3/4". Cache Pots with Original underplates are almost impossible to find. no chips, cracks or any damage, just evidence that the inside has had a lot of dirt and flowers and orchids rubbing against it. The only real reference book on "Chinese Export Porcelain" was written by Herbert Schiffer a known chinese export dealer who has since died. The undertrays get a lot of abuse and are usually not decorated in rose medallion or rose mandarin but are decorated in rose canton. The cache pot is 3 1/2" in height and 4 1/2" in diameter at the top. The undertray is 4 3/4" in diameter. Decorated nicely with rose medallion figures in court scenes. No chips, cracks or restoration. Their is also a drain hole in the bottom of the cache pot for the excess water to drain.   « Less

Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Cache Pot in Very Good Condition. This is one of two of these pots that I am listing individually on my web site and also as a lot of Two--Can't say a pair as their is a inch difference in height but both are the best. the famille rose enamels have the rose medallion and mandarin scenes.The decoration is of high quality with lots of detail and precisely painted. Excellent Condition and Excellent Quality. This one is 4 1/4" in diameter at the top opening and the measurement in height to the bottom foot is 3". It has the original feet on the base which would set onto a undertray that unfortunately is missing, which is usually the case. Good Condition. Their is a very,very tiny nick on the top rim and a very small amount of wear on this rim. Of course there is a hole in the bottom for water to drain. The inside is rough as it is not glazed and of course they would water their little flowers. These cache pots, planters, jardineers and bough pots in antique chinese export porcelain are hard to find in anywhere the good condition that this and the other one that we have listed on our website.   « Less

This is one of two of these pots that I am listing individually on my web site and also has a lot of Two--Can't say a pair as their is a inch difference in height but both are the best. The famille rose enamels have the rose medallion and mandarin scenes. The decoration is of high quality with lots of detail and precisely painted. Excellent Condition and Excellent Quality. It is hardly noticeable but you can feel it when you feel across the piece. Of course there is a hole in the bottom for water to drain. The inside is rough as it is not glazed and of course they would water their little flowers. Their is also a slight roughness by feel, not visable in the outside decoration in the cartouche with the ladies in the garden scene. Circa 1840 Chinese Export Rose Medallion Lovely pair of antique chinese porcelain flower pots. This form is also referred to as cache pots. The famille rose enamels have the rose medallion and mandarin scenes. The decoration is of high quality with lots of detail and precisely painted. Both of these pieces are in Excellent Condition and Very Good Quality. One of these is 4 1/4" in diameter at the top opening and the measurement in height to the bottom foot is 3". The other one is 4 1/8" in diameter at the top opening and is 2 3/4" in height to it's bottom foot. The feet were supposed to fit into a underplate that neither one of these have. Again both are in Perfect Condition. No chips, cracks or restoration. Condition is Good. There is a bit of wear from age and use (mostly visable on the inside)and there is one chip to one of the underside feet of the smaller one.(Not visable when the flower pot is standing) Originally these would have had matched liners often referred to as underplates. But the are not, lost or probably broken thru the years.   « Less

Circa 1840 Chinese Export Famille Rose, Rose Canton Cache Pot, Bough Pots. These are the most unusual planters that I have seen in the rose medallion patterns. They are mounted in gilt metal stands which I feel are definetely French and date around 1820-1840. It was quite the fashion when these were made to have porcelain placed into mounts such as these. they would have initially been purchased as a mantel decoration and over the years have held small flowers, bulbs and plants. Flower and plant holders of any size and shape are getting harder and harder to find in chinese export porcelain and are very desirable, especially with ormolu. This particular pattern is rose canton since there are no people in the pattern. The pots are 4" and the bottom of the pot flares out and measures 4 1/2". The total height is 3 1/2". So if you could find a small orchid, that has a base or less than 4" they would work perfectly as size and would like fantastic. The ormolu is done very well and I imagine dates the same period as the pots. These would look great in a sun room or any small spot. Perfect Condition with no chips, cracks or restoration. These just came out of a estate in England and is one of two great items in ormolu that we just purchased.   « Less
