Extraordinary antique artist initialed in the lower left, painting on porcelain plaque depicting a red headed nude nymph riding a dolphin in the waves. It looks windy as her hair and ribbon are blowing in the wind. This is one of the most beautiful and rare KPM porcelain plaques you might ever hope to find. This has been in my own collection for more than 30 years. It has never been listed for sale on the internet or offered for sale since I acquired it for my own collection. The painting has a blue glaze title on the back that reads TEMPETE (STORM). The back of the frame has some writing about the artist dating it 1840, titling it nude on a dolphin spirit of storm. The colors, quality and subject of this magnificent painting are beyond description, the pictures tell it all. The plaque has a beautiful gilt wood antique frame measuring 12 inches high by 8-3/4 inches wide. The plaque measures 9 inches high by 6 inches wide. Beautiful early 19th Century French enamel depicting a partially nude lady giving jewelry to a child while two other children are quarrelling by her feet. She has her jewelry box opened with one hand as she tosses jewelry with her other hand to one of the children. The enamel is signed A. Loire in the upper right-hand corner. It is highlighted with gold. The background has architectural columns and buildings. The enamel is in nearly mint condition showing only minor rubbing with no enamel loss. This is a beautiful artist signed enamel painting, a very classical scene expertly painted and in wonderful condition. It measures 5-3/4 inches high by 4-1/4 inches wide. Exquisite antique artist signed painting on porcelain plaque depicting a beautiful nude lady lying on a daybed with her little dog cuddled up at the end of the bed. In the background are 2 servants preparing her clothes for the day. The plaque is signed K. Koch in the lower right. This is a German painting on porcelain plaque, artist signed, dating from the late 19th century. The plaque has incised numbers 311 and HR in a circle for Hutschenreuther. I have seen this subject painted on other porcelain plaques but never before an example of this high quality. Koch was considered among the best German painters specializing in paintings on porcelain in the late 19th century. The plaque and frame are in excellent condition. The plaque measures 7-1/4 inches wide by 5-1/16 inches high. The original carved gilt wood frame measures 13-3/4 inches wide at its widest point and 11-1/2 inches high at its highest point. This is by far the highest quality painting on porcelain plaque of this subject I have had the pleasure to see and own in my more than 45 years experience in this business. Rare antique painting on porcelain plaque depicting a nude Cleopatra holding the poisonous asp as she lies on her day bed dying from being bitten. The plaque is painted in colors usually seen in old master paintings. This is a very unusual subject to find on a painted porcelain plaque. It looks like an old master painting. The plaque has a couple of scratches . One scratch runs from her knee towards the bottom of her sheet measuring approximately 1/2 inch. There is another scratch above her left hand. These scratches could be touched up by a professional restorer to make them invisible. We chose to leave it as is the way we bought it. The plaque measures 6-1/4 inches wide by 4-3/8 inches high. The frame measures 11-3/4 inches wide by 9-3/4 inches high. The frame is a very unusual one with carved flowers attached to the cloth part of the wood frame. The frame has some losses to the gilding but even with the two scratches on the plaque and minor loss to the gilt frame this is still a very beautiful and rare plaque that would make a wonderful addition to any collection. She's framed in a gilt wood oval frame with a brown matte. The painting dates circa 1900. There is a miniscule hairline scratch near the end of her long flowing hair.
