Antique Vicotiran miniature furniture made of mahogany and burl wood. 19th century. Comes from the estate of the late Beverly Sills, famous opera singer and society beneficiary. Measures 10 1/4 inches high; 5 1/4 inches wide. Stands on 4 shaped bracket feet. Two deep cupbaords with a metal handle and keyhole under a long drawer, with round metal handles and a central keyhole. A ridged surface indicating the qualitly of the workmanship leads to inset mirrored tall cupboard doors, fitted out as the cupbard doors below. The bottom door are decorated with inlaid wood/stringing. Shaped top, again shows wonderful quality of the craftmanship. Inside is original old paper lining in red and white geometric patterns with a scalloped, shaped wood shelf on top and a plain wooden shelf on the bottom. Generally very good condition with wonderful patina, formed over well over 100 years. Made to look like a real grandfather clock and carved out of oak. It is set with a small clock (that needs some work), made in Germany. Besides one part of the broken pediment that has been reglued, the clock is in good condition. Antique, Victorian, mahogany wooden miniature wood tilt-top table. Made 19th century. Comes from the estate of the late Beverly Sills, famous opera singer and society beneficiary. Measures 8 inches tall. Top of table is 10 1/4 inches in diameter. Beautifully constructed miniature table with all the features of the full-size version. Stands on 3 round slightly flattened bun feet beneath a tri-lobed concave base. The richly shaped and turned neck is highly attractive and constitutes the only adornment besides the natural grain of the wood. The wide table top on a metal swivel, that moves it up / down smoothely and easilly. The wood, well over 100 years old has a marvellous patina with some natural shrinkage that in no way detracts from the charm and quality of the table. From a collection of toy soldiers, all believed to have been handmade somewhere in the mid 20th century. 14 soldiers on horseback: 5 brandish weapons and are unique; 9 on horseback, in uniform, identical to each other. Stand appox 2 inches high. Each horse and soldier is attached to an oval base. There are raised numbers on the base, but I do not know what their significance is. Fabulous detail. All seem to be in very good condition. The material (believed to be lead) is very soft and they can be bent very easilly. However, they can just as easilly be bent back into their original shape. A 13inch all-composition baby doll almost certainly made by the Reliable company, Toronto Canada, early 20th century. Christening costume.The entire body and head are made of painted composition, which is in remarkably good condition, considering the age and delicate nature of the material. Moulded, painted hair, red painted mouth, brown glass eyes that close when she lies down and bristle eyelashes. Neck swivels as do arms and legs. The clothes are old style, but not original.There are no marks to be found on the doll, but she is very similar to the 17inch doll from the same collection, which is marked Reliable.Both dolls are in remarkable condition for their age - as close to mint as any composition doll. Rare vintage Italian doll in fantastic costume - exact replica of peasant clothing of the area. About 70 years old. Measures 17inches tall. She is held up by her own stand. Handwritten note indicates that this costume is a replica of the peasants from the town of Pondelandelfo. Blue underwear and petticoats, a purple warm cloth dress with red embroidered apron. Very old lace blouse(probably older than the doll herself) with a hand-crocheted shawl held together by a genuine micro-mosaic heart-shaped floral pin. Curly black hair under large gold hoop earrings, eyes close and bow-shaped pink mouth. Excellent condition.
