For Sale is a Desk Set Item made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The Item for Auction is a "Calendar/Picture Frame" and it is done in Tiffany's "Abalone Poly-chromed" Desk Set Pattern. The Calendar/Picture Frame measures 6 1/2" wide at its widest point and is 5 3/4" in Height. The Picture or Calendar Opening is 3 1/8" Wide by 2" Tall. The Calendar/Picture Frame has the very desirable gold with polychrome front side and a acid etched back. This Tiffany Frame displays wonderful clusters of abalone grapes outlined with Geometric Patterns and Symbols throughout. The low relief of of these geometric borders are poly-chromed in a sage green. The back displays the small snowflakes acid etched finish and a naturally aged Dore' (Gold) Patina. This is the Collectors Choice in the Abalone Desk Set items. This Frame is quite heavy for its size. The frame's easel back hinge works just fine and displays the pictures and calender in level appearance. The Calendar/Picture Frame is considered to be in excellent as there are no dents, or dings on the front side. This piece shows normal age wear. As an added Bonus it still retains all of the Original Perpetual Calendar pages. It has an easel style hinge to sit on your desk comfortably. The Frame has all of its original Screws as well as the back plate to hold the calendar and pictures in place. The piece is signed on this backside plate with "Tiffany Studio New York" Impressed mark along with the pattern number "1166" for the Calendar/Picture Frame. There is also the number "4508" lightly scratched under the model number. I believe this to be the order number. Tiffany started using a 3 digit number for his Fancy Desk Set goods after 1902 subsequently this piece was made early circa 1905-1915. This is a quality item in the Tiffany Desk Set Items. The Quality and Patina doesn't get much better than this. I'm Sure the Buyer will be delighted with their purchase.   « Less

For Sale is a very nice Desk Set item made by Tiffany Studios, New York. The Pattern is the ever Popular and highly collected "Grapevine" Desk Set Pattern and the item is a "Double Deck Playing Card Box". The Box is done is the most sought after Green Favrile Glass and Green Patina. The Box stands 4 3/16" tall and is 3 1/8" wide and 2" deep. The Card Box displays a beautiful Tiffany Green/Brown Patina. The Acid etched Pattern of Grapes, Leaves and Stems has been a Popular Pattern amongst LCT, Tiffany Favrile Collectors for many years. This Card Box has the Green Opal Favrile Glass. This is considered to be the most desirable of the desk set pieces to collect.The Top hinge works with ease and when opened it displays 2 compartments to house 2 separate decks of playing cards. The Card Box is considered to be in excellent Condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings to any of the Glass or Frame. The Patina is rich and strong and shows some wear on certain areas on the box especially on the bottom side when standing. The Card Box is signed on the bottom with the "Tiffany Studios New York" impressed signature mark along with the pattern number "876". This Card Box is about as good as it gets. These when found are usually damaged, but this one is not. It displays all the Bells and Whistles as it has the Green/Brown Patina, and Green Favrile Opalescent Glass with absolutely no damage to any of the glass. Tiffany Started using a 3 digit numbering system after 1902. Since this has a 3 digit number it would have been made circa 1902-1915.   « Less
