This is a charming collectors item, a beautiful compact with the original felt cover from Fifth Rex Avenue in excellant condition. The top of the compact has a nice floral design in yellow and coral, green and blue on a vanilla background. The inside of the compact has a mirror and the original peach pad with white ribbon that is printed with "Fifth Rex Avenue". The bottom of the compact is brass with very beautiful and ornate stamped design. The cover is plain black felt that is in great condition. The exact age of the compact is unknown, there are some spots on the mirror as seen in the pictures. The compact is 5/8'' tall, 3 3/4'' from side to side, 3 7/8'' from front to back; the felt cover is 1/4'' tall, 4 3/4'' from side to side, 4 7/8'' from front to back; all together the felt and compact weigh less than a pound. Antique ladies gilt metal dance purse/compact. The inside is marked F & B in a flag. It has a spring loaded clip where a lady may keep notes, papers or cash. There's another compartment that lifts open for makeup and another mirrored compartment that lifts open for powder. All the compartments shut tightly when closed as does the case. From the top of the chain to the bottom of the compact it measures 8 inches. The dance purse or compact itself measures 3 1/4 inches high by 2 1/4 inches wide by 1/2 inch deep. Beautiful antique lady's gilt metal with miniature painting in the center antique coin purse. The miniature painting in the center is extremely well painted with a castle, mountain, bridge, water and trees. The colors are beautiful they are rich and vibrant. The purse measures 2-3/4 inches wide across the bottom. From the bottom to the top it measures 2-1/8 inches. When closed it measures 3/8 inch wide. This is a rare and unusual piurse in very good used condition. The back of the purse has a lovely hand chased scroll work and bar design. The front of the case is also engraved with a similar design.
