Large Pittsburgh Sheepherder table lamp measuring 23" tall and 18" wide. The lamp views a sheepherder with his Border Collie by his side after successfully rounding up the herd at sunset - truly a spectacular scene. fields, mountains, and trees completes the reverse side. This is a lamp I have been seeking for over 15 years when I first saw one on a visit to a collector in Oklahoma for some other lamps. It was in a prominent place in his dining room, wanted it badly, but he wanted $5000 and my other purchases from him just did not allow me the opportunity. That was then and this is now in my obtaining this better one with the Owl base. Both base and shade are signed and in pristine museum grade condition with no damage. This lantern was manufactured for the Youngstown Sheet and Tube. About 9-1/2" tall not including the handle. The lantern is in very good condition. The wire handle is a little misshapen, there are a few minor dents. The only problem I see is that it has been brush painted. This was considered proper maintenance at the YS&T. I don't know how it affects the value. The oil inside and the wick were pretty nasty so I have to clean it out for shipping. It will need a new wick. The glass is in excellent condition.   « Less
