Hand blown and formed art glass vase. Items such as this were made with the glass left over at the end of each day, and called ''day''s end glass''.The vase rests on a slab of glass that was not broken off after blowing. The colors are clear(slightly golden) overlaid with a matte creamy white scalloped layer, with slight halo effect around the top of the white, and the final layer is a mottled gold and clear dipped layer on thelower half of the vase. There is slight iridescence in some areas, and this piece is quite interesting and attractive to look at. When holding flowers it definietly makes a statement, at the same time looking very naturalistic in form. Circa early to mid 1900''s, unmarked. Dimensions: 6.5'' high x 4.5'' wide (at foot) x 3.75'' diameter.
