Very lovely gold locket, dating from circa 1880s to 1900. One side has a shield for the wearer's initials (blank here) and the other has a fern decoration. Inside there is room for two photos - only one has glass though. Both have their original retaining rings. Locket measures 32 mm (not including the suspension ring) by 26 mm and 8 mm thick. The suspension ring is a further 10mm long. Gold is not stamped, but tests as 12ct, which is appropriate for the period. It comes with a long curb-link 14ct gold chain (tested) bought in the 1980s. Chain is 800 mm long (31.5 inches) by 3 mm.   « Less

Antique amethyst ring. Superb stone with lovely colour. This lovely ring has faults to the mount. I have two of these rings, both with faulted mounts - several other items from the same family also had similar amethysts, so it would appear that a 19th century necklace was broken up and re-purposed as rings, brooches etc. It was once common practise to remodel jewellery into other items according to fashion - possibly the original necklace was damaged and so was dismantled. This ring is mounted in 9ct gold, and has split design scroll shoulders and a pretty ball and loop mount around the stone - it's this ornate mount that is damaged. The stone is still held tightly, and is in no danger of falling out. Photos show the loss of the loops. Ring face measures 16 mm by 13 mm. Ring fitting is UK size J (USA size 4.3/4) with an internal diameter of 15.52 mm. Stone is in excellent condition.   « Less

A six-strand bracelet of the late 1800s - approx. 9ct gold guard chain linking with tassel drop. Total length of bracelet is 18.5 cm, The drop (which is mounted at the clasp) is 4 cm long. Width of bracelet is approx. 1.8 cm. There is one fault - a little O ring which joins one of the strands to the bar which holds them, is absent, and the chain has been joined to the chain through one of the links. Truly charming little flower brooch - three daisies and a bud held by a silver ribbon. Silver gilt mount with diamanté faux stones. Lovely item, looks like the real thing and would date from very early 20th century. Possibly an Australian colonial piece. Stamped 925 Silver to the rear - somewhat age-related worn stamp. Brooch measures 4.5 cm by 2.1 cm. There is a kink in the rear pin which once had a swivel safety catch (now missing the swivel), otherwise in excellent condition and very pretty.   « Less

Dainty antique 18ct gold ring, mounted with three small diamonds in a rub-over star setting. Face of ring measures 5.5 mm by 14 mm. The little diamonds are rose-cut/old-mine-cut. Band tapers to rear. In Edwardian and Victorian rings, the gold was often very thin, and age wear to the rear of the band occurred. This one appears to have been built up at some stage, as the gold is thicker there than at the shoulders (which is a good thing!). Ring size is English L (USA size 5.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.10 mm. TW: 1.7g. Very good condition.   « Less

Beautiful Art Deco lavalier necklace - 9ct gold mount with drop pendant of round aquamarine suspended above a square aquamarine with two vertical bars of gold holding the lower mount. The gold chain is a fine curb-link. Pendant measures 4.5 cm drop including the O suspension ring. Lower stone in mount is 12 mm by 9 mm (stone is emerald cut). Top stone is round, 5.25 mm diameter. Both stones are surrounded by a millegrain-edged gold mount. The chain is 41 cm long. Excellent condition. Circa 1910-1920s.   « Less

Vintage genuine pearl necklace, cultured Akoya pearls (genuine ocean pearls, not freshwater), two strands of large matched pearls with a very large decorative 9ct gold clasp mounted with a large dark red stone and four pearls. The pearls are each 7.5 mm diameter, knotted between each bead. Total length is 53 cm including the clasp. The beautiful clasp is a converted Victorian late 19th century brooch - it has four circles, each topped with a 9ct gold very detailed chased leaf pattern. Intricate filigree circles around the leaves, and tiny millegrain edge to the clasp. Mounted with the central stone and four genuine pearls. The clasp measures 4 cm by 3.5 cm. This is a truly beautiful vintage necklace, probably dating early 20th century. Very good condition for the age, just very light normal wear. This is the prettiest statement necklace I have seen.   « Less
