Cobalt archways around each panel. Diamond shaped neck. Brown studded border around the rim and to the handle. Turquoise interior. Cream underside with impressed maker''s marks ''N80'', ''K'', ''18s'', ''4.GILL'' and ''COPELAND''. Raised pattern registration diamond. Similar piece illustrated on page 118, Abrams ''Majolica A complete History and illustrated Survey'' by Karmason & Stacke. Very good. No restoration. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. No flakes. Green shredded clay decoration to ground and nest. Decorated all round. Hollow base. Good. No cracks. No hairlines. No chips. Some small flakes to shredded clay and one to lower base edge. A few paint losses to brown enamel on one bird and to the spills. Some wear to reverse. Kiln effects: kiln detritus caught in the glaze to lower base edge. Restoration of one bird''s head.
