Antique bracelet, circa 1900-1910. Made in silver with sparkly oval paste stones (diamantés or imitation diamonds). Very dainty with two rows of slim chains separating 6 vertical rows of stones. Unusual ring - the large oval amethyst is rose cut and mounted in a 12 carat gold crown-shaped setting. Flat band. No hallmarks, but tests as 12 ct. Nice soft colour to the gold. The stone may well have come from a necklace, as the Victorians and Georgians were fond of remodelling their jewellery. Or, it could have been made for a man to wear. Face of ring measures 1.7 cm by 1.4 cm. The band is 5 mm wide. Ring fitting is English size O (USA size 7) with an internal diameter of 17.35 mm. Excellent condition for the age. The style would fit the Arts & Crafts era, circa 1880s to 1910.   « Less

Ring face measures 24 mm by 21.5 mm. Ring fitting is UK size P (USA size 7.1/2) with an internal diameter of 17.75 mm. Excellent condition. The design is in the style of Dorothy Wager (aka Dorothy Judge) - so possibly Australian in origin. Hallmarked 925 for sterling grade silver.   « Less

Unusual brooch - a large amethyst mounted in a crenulated 18ct yellow gold setting. Pin at rear curves to accommodate facets of the stone, so you couldn't have this brooch on thick fabric. I would think that this has been made from a necklace - I have several other pieces (rings etc) with the same mount from the same family, so probably a damaged necklace was dismantled and made into other items. Centre stone is approx. 2 mm diameter. Pretty mount, typical of the Edwardian era. Thin band, also typical of the make of the time. Largest pearls are approx. 8-9 mm diameter. Smallest are 7 mm diameter. Whole brooch measures 6.2 cm by 4.7 mm. Stamped "White Gold" to rear, and tests as 14k white gold. This lovely ring has faults, but it is a superb stone with lovely colour. I have two of these rings, both with faulted mounts - several other items from the same family also had similar amethysts, so it would appear that a 19th century necklace was broken up and re-purposed as rings, brooches etc. It was common practise to remodel jewellery into other items - possibly the original necklace was damaged and so was dismantled. This ring is mounted in 9ct gold, and has split design shoulders and a pretty ball and loop mount around the stone - it's this ornate mount that is damaged. The stone is still held tightly, and is in no danger of falling out. Photos show the loss of one of the crowned loops. Ring face measures 16 mm by 13 mm. Ring fitting is UK size L (USA size 5.1/2) with an internal diameter of 16.10 mm. Stone is in excellent condition.   « Less
