Circa 1900. Extremely fine American Brilliant Glass boudoir lamp. This lovely light features a deep, crisp cut design that is the mark of the best of antique brilliant cut glass. Flowers, feathers and leaves adorn the "chocolate kiss" shaped shade in a pattern that leads me to believe that this lamp is a product of the Pairpoint company. The base is flowers and leaves with "thumbprint" circles up the shaped shaft. Nicely cut crystal pendants circle the rim of the shade, finishing the lamp to perfection. Very fine condition with a deep original age patina to the metal and no damage to the glass. Rewired original single bulb socket, antique style silk cord. 17 " tall over-all x 5 1/2" base diameter, the shade is 8" at the widest and 7" tall.   « Less

Circa 1890. Fresh to the market from a fine Park Slope Brooklyn brownstone is this large and beautiful ten arm, original gas/electric chandelier. Covered from top to bottom with extraordinary Victorian detail, from the filigree and acanthus leaf canopy, long central shaft entwined with graceful, leafy vines to it's open work filigree shade and candle holders. The main center section is a long inverted cone shape of which the top section is a ring of bright standing leaves which are framed by a band of floral wreathes below. Each arm has an acanthus leaf where it connects to the central body and another beneath the lights. The gas arms with glass shades retain their heavy, open work, cast brass petcocks (gas valve switch). The five fine Period glass gas shades are pleated and finely etched all over with typical Victorian motifs. They are all in fine condition. All solid cast brass with a fine original patina. Professionally converted and re-wired for safety. Very fine condition. 43 " long x 27" diameter.   « Less

Beautiful Handel reverse painted table light. This early 20th century table lamp is much more dramatic in person than in the photos. This vibrantly colored, hand painted scene is of a tropical garden blazing with brightly colored flowers and leaves, with two red bodied birds, one with a long green tail and one without, perched on leaves on either side of the shade. The handsome base is very decorative bronzed white metal, with flowers and leaves among the designs. The original finish of the base is in very good un-touched up or repainted original condition. Original three bulb socket fixture with original pull chains and Edison based sockets. The detail and quality of this light makes me believe it is from one of the prime makers and the shade is pictured on page 124 in The Handel Lamps Book, by Hibel, Hibel and Fontaine published 1999 and is described as model # 6931. The shade has two small rim chips which are not really noticeable unless you look for them, they can be seen in the last photo. There are also a couple of tiny flakes to the paint which I believe are original and not damage, just places where the artist left a tiny empty spot. Fine original patina. Re-wired. 23 " tall x 8 1/2" base diameter. Un-signed. Shade is 16" diameter x 8" high.   « Less

All original Arts & Crafts oil lamp. Signed Kosmos and Brenner this all brass lamp is a fine example of the Aesthetic Movement and Arts & Crafts styles popular in this period. It is all highly decorative cast and pressed brass with bright inset glass jewels in the shade. All original and in good working order. It has one minor dent and two pin holes on the base. The very top edge of the shade is also slightly out of round. Over-all this lamp displays very well and it's condition issues do not affect it's look. Fresh to the market from a fine Boerum Hill Brooklyn brownstone. Fine original patina. 14 " tall x 7" shade diameter.   « Less

Unusual, diminutive, four arm American Rococo chandelier. This original, elegant gas light is covered in graceful vines and leaves which are usually found in larger more expensive fixtures and has a wonderful warm, original patina to it's gilded brass. Attractive from every angle, this would be a wonderful light over a dining table, with its beautifully worked underside and finial. This charmingly detailed Victorian light also features four frosted shades that are etched with wreathes and bows and have a scalloped top. These shades are Period Victorian and came with this light.
