Bar brooch or pin, made in lovely green New Zealand jade (called greenstone in NZ). The end caps are 9ct gold, and are very ornate with applied banding and scroll engravings in the late Victorian style. It would date circa 1890s-1910. Measures 5.5 cm wide and 8 mm high (2.1/8 inches by 5/16 inch). No damage, probably a replacement clasp, but old work. All in excellent condition.   « Less

Sterling silver large Victorian photo locket pendant, with unusual raised embossed decoration and bright cut engravings of a flower and foliage. The embossing has the appearance of 19th century steelwork (cut to look like diamonds, but made in metal) - however, the example here is made in the silver. Hallmarks for Birmingham 1884 (the registration mark is an applied diamond and is placed over the year mark, so hard to read), but in any case the registration mark is for 1881. Maker's mark is for David & Lional Spiers who were registered from 1882 to 1894. Measures 4.5 cm by 3.75 cm not including the bale (1.3/4 inches by 1.1/2 inches). A few minor little indentations to the rear, patina of age but in very good condition for an item approximately 125 years old.   « Less

Late 19th century necklace, turquoise scarabs on gold chain. There are 11 scarabs, some in the scarab beetle shape, some in some form of shell shape, and one central tablet - all with Egyptian hieroglyphics and symbols on the rear. Necklace measures 43 cm long (17 inches). One small shell-shape has a chip on it, photo shows rear with chip, but from the front it isn't so noticeable. Scarabs are about 1.5 cm by 1.1 cm each. Early 20th century Chinese bracelet. Central brass oval medallion mounted with coral and turquoise stones surrounded by copper wire work, with edge decoration of flowers. Hinged, tapering, side panels decorated with flowers and butterflies. Bracelet is 18 cm long (7 inches). Central panel measures 5.5 cm by 4.2 cm (2.1/8 inches by 1.5/8 inches). Unusual Victorian period Mizpah brooch - a small tusk (maybe from a wild boar or similar), with ct gold caps, and the Mizpah blessing mounted in gold on the centre. Suspended small bell with prettily embossed pattern. Etruscan style rope and ball work to the gold caps, so popular in the late 19th century. 10 carat rose gold (tested) vintage ring - very Art Deco in style. It has a central Ceylon style sapphire flanked by a diamond on each side. There is a valuation for this ring, and to paraphrase the description: "Mount is 10K rose gold, central claw and tab double bezel setting, flanked by square grain set shoulders onto a 2.1 mm flat band with upswept shoulders". Sapphire: Oval mixed cut, approx. 8 mm by 6 mm x 4.3 mm estimated at 2.00 carats. Medium Ceylonese type, violetish blue, lightly included with very good colour quality. Appears not to have been heat treated." Diamonds: "Two, early modern brilliant and old single cut, estimated to total 0.10 carats, good make, H-I colour, SI clarity." Face of ring measures 9 mm by 13 mm. The sapphire has some tiny, tiny chips and age abrading to the crown, but this is mainly seen under a loupe. It is in very good condition, and would date circa 1920s-30s. The ring size is English size N (USA size 6.1/2) with an internal diameter of 17.1 mm. Total weight is 2.81 grams.
