Here is an interesting late 18th - early 19th century continental (German or French) kuttrolf bottle. Made with a pinch in the neck to allow air in while liquid goes out, Therefore producing an even pour. Most needed for measuring purposes. Wonderful shaft & globe form with kick-up in base and open pontil scar. Lovely light blue glass. Some base scratching around pontil scar otherwise perfect condition. About 10" tall. Price is firm. Here is one of the most exciting English black glass sealed wine bottles we have ever offered for sale! Probably belonged to John Smith, member of Parliament and house speaker. See Brise and Dumbrell. Wonderful early onion form with large prominent seal “I SMITH 1706”. This important sealed bottle sold in a 2004 Glassworks Auction #70, lot 115 for $8,960. Scan of auction receipt will be forwarded to buyer. English sealed wine bottles dated before 1710 are extremely rare! Bottle has a beautiful mild iridescent patina with no chips, cracks or other damages. A perfect 10! About 6 ¾” tall. Selling at a loss. Price is firm. Thanks for looking!   « Less

Here is a very rare Danish Modern kuttrolf decanter. This was part of the Schnapps Doctor series made at the Holmegaard Glass Works in Denmark and designed by Michael Bang. They were only produced in 1973. This one is a double kuttrolf. Actually one kuttrolf blown atop another. A very bizarre, but also functional, design! These highly desirable bottles are sometimes called kluck klucks or glugs because of the sound liquid makes when they are poured quickly. However, these types of bottles were not designed to pour swiftly, but rather slowly so the air runs up one tube while the liquid runs down another providing a very smooth flow. The design dates back to Roman times. Perfect mint, crystal clear glass, never used condition with original label completely intact. You will never find a better example! About 11” tall.
