For Auction is a lovely Art Glass Vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Disapora" and the form is a Pinched or Thumbprint Flower Vase. The Vase is a good size as it stands 7 5/8" tall has a diameter of 4 3/4" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 3 1/4".
The Vase has a very Art Nouveau Shape. It has Five Pinched Thumbprint Indents along the bottom Third. The Vase displays a very beautiful Candia (Gold) Silberiris Diaspora texture which resembles Moon Craters throughout the vase. Silberiris refers to the addition of a highly iridescent finish, either silver, pale blue, or a deeper blue. It has a rolled over fire polished top lip. The iridescence is just outstanding as you can see vivid colors of Golds, Platinum Blues and very strong Fuchsia. The Base Glass is Clear with the Gold Applied decoration.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The bottom does display a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the mark of a quality piece of art Glass. The Vase is not signed but it is a very well documented Loetz Decor. The Vase is very clean outside and in as It shows minimal signs of use. These taller and larger Loetz vases were often knocked over and very few of them survived without any damage. This vase has no Damage what so ever.
This is a very nice vase that is not so commonly found. The decoration is brilliant and well defined. I'm quite sure the buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This Vase was known as Candia Diaspora in the Loetz Catalog. This Vase was made circa 1902 and is considered the early years for Loetz. « Less

For sale is a lovely vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Pampas" and the form is a "Large Ruffled Centerpiece Vase. The Vase is quite large as it stands 7" tall and has a diameter of 10 3/4" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 5 5/8". Picture 3 shows a size comparison next to a can of Campbell's Soup.
The Vase displays a base glass that is light green in color. It is further decorated with a wonderful raised "Thread" Decor that is done in a Fishnet grid work Pattern. These threads are thick and raised up on the glass. They are actually fused into the main body as one. It is further accented with an Iridescent Oil Spot finish. The vase displays a very beautiful rainbow "mother-of-pearl" iridescence with Fuchsia tones throughout. It is accented with 8 large ruffles at the top. It is very European in design. The Pattern form and Color are exceptional. The top lip is rolled and fire polished like the American Contemporaries of the day Tiffany Favrile, Quezal, Durand and Steuben Aurene.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Vase does display a very nice counter sunk polished pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Vase is very clean inside and shows minimal signs of use. You can see some scratches along the bottom edge outer rim. This is typical of its age and use.
This is a Beautiful Vase that is not so commonly found. You Loetz collectors will welcome this fine addition into your collection. This Vase was made, circa 1899-1905 and is considered the early years for Loetz Decorative Art Glass.

For sale is a beautiful Carnival Glass Swung Vase made by The Northwood Glass Company of Wheeling, West Virginia. The pattern is known as "Tree Trunk" and is a deep Purple. The Vase measures 7" tall at the tips of the ruffles and has a base diameter of 3 3/8". The opening at the rim of the vase measures approximately 4 7/8" wide outside rim measurement.
The Vase displays different sized and sporadically placed hobs with raised crescent lines in between to give a bark or tree trunk appearance. This vase has a nice wide flaring rim to accommodate a nice bouquet of flowers. The iridescence on this piece is spectacular as you can see vivid colors of Gold, Blue, Purple, Blue and Teal on the interior and exterior. I would almost call this Electric!!This was a very popular pattern of Northwood and was made in four different sizes in Carnival Glass which are squat, standard or mid size, funeral and elephant foot. It was also one of the few patterns done in Opalescent Glass as well. This is considered squat as it stands 7" at the tips.
The piece is in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. The piece is signed on the bottom with Northwood's N Underlined in a circle mark. Here is your chance to own a wonderful piece of Art Glass that is 100 years old and made by one of the Great Master's In American Art Glass.
The Vase was made Circa 1911-1917. « Less

For sale is a lovely Art Glass Vase made by Loetz Klostermuehle of Bohemia which is now the modern day Czech Republic. The Pattern is called "Papillon" and the form is a Flower Vase. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 4 1/8" tall and has a diameter of 3 3/8" at its widest point. The bottom of the vase has a diameter of 1 5/8".
The Vase has an outstanding Gold Papillon (Oil Spot) Decoration. The elongated mottles are tightly packed next to each other in a vertical fashion. The iridescence is just outstanding as you can see vivid colors of Golds, Blues, and and some Fuchsia along with Platinum Blue on the bottom side. The vase displays a classic Greek Urn shape. It starts out thin at the bottom, then flares out at an angle and then it comes back in. The neck rises up above the body and flares out ever so gently. The neck is fairly tall for the vessel. The base glass is clear glass with this applied Papillon Decoration.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The opening at the top has a nicely polished and beveled top lip. The bottom does not have a counter sunk polished pontil. This means this vase was blown into a mold from the top then cut at the top and polished. This was very typical of your European Glass Houses to do this. The American Houses usually displayed a counter sunk and polished pontil with a fire polished rolled edge. The Vase is unsigned as is typical of Loetz vases. It more than likely had a paper label at one time. There is no doubt that this is Loetz as this decorated pattern technique is a well documented design. The vase is very clean outside and in and it shows minimal signs of use.
This is one of the nicest Gold Papillon Decor Vases I have ever owned. The decoration is brilliant and well defined. I'm quite sure the lucky buyer will be very pleased with their purchase. This vase was made circa 1899-1905 and is considered the early years for Loetz. « Less
