An incredibly detailed piece of what should be Imperial Satsuma. This is a very large piece with the detailing of one of the finest minature pieces of Satsuma you will ever find. Hard to photo but the raised white background on the floor is actually divided into floor tiles that rise off the face of the vase by 1/8'' or so. The detail and diapering is unbelievable for such a large piece. This is masterpiece grade Satsuma. The photos in no way do justice to the piece and in person it is a study in detail. Circa 1900 and Meiji in origin. Very minor chip on footrim in its only fault. A showpiece for the highest grade Satsuma collection in the world. Oddly unsigned but it has to be a master Satsuma artist. Just under 12'' tall. Status: For Sale Reference#: 337049 Condition: See Description Year: See Description « Less

Incredible Satsuma vase that is signed with one of the most intricate signatures I have ever seem. The detailing of this piece is far beyond anything that I have ever seen. The faces of the men are all completely different and you would be able to recognize any of them were you to meet them. The women oddly have almost exactly the same face and all completely white as woman would have been in the court with their pancake makeup. Only 4'' tall but a stunning example of what could be done in the Golden Age of Satsuma. A museum quality piece unlikely to be equalled even by the masters like Yabu Meizan. For extra pictures please email. Perfect condition. Circa 1900 Status: For Sale Reference#: 283518 Condition: See Description Year: See Description « Less
