Vintage sterling silver wine Kiddush goblet. Made in Israel at the Bezalel School of Arts and Crafts, circa 1948-1955. Measures 3 7/8 inches high and weighs 40grams. Classic Arts and Crafts combining the influences of the Yemenite craftsmen and silversmiths and the teachers of the Bauhaus School in Germany. The vines and vine leaf design incorporates the names Bezalel and Yerushalaim (Jerusalem) as well as the blessing over wine, Borei Pri HaGefen. Silver filigree work on the base and under the rim is typical of Middle Eastern, especially Yemenite silver craftsmen. Very beautiful both in design and execution. Marked on the base: ISRAEL 925 and 30 in a shield. Very good condition with no dings/dents/damage/restoration. Antique engraved sterling silver card case. Made in Birmingham, England, 1871. Maker signed NM. Measures a little over 4 X 2 3/4 inches. Weighs 60 grams. Rectangular shape with scalloped, curling sides. Hinged lid. The entire surface top and bottom is magnificently hand engraved: a central circle with space for a monogram (not used) surrounded by an inverted scallope border bright cut crescent moons and concentric rings. Around this is a mass of flowers and foliage - very beautifully done with incredibly fine detail. Borders are overlapping knots and curls with a slightly Celtic look. Quality of artistic design and technical mastery is superb. Hallmark on inside lip : W (date mark); anchor (Birmingham); lion (for sterling); Queen Victorian looking left and maker''s mark, slightly worn on the left part, but clearly M on the right. Condition is good. There is a fine split one the side in front of the lid (see ''photos) - not noticeable unless you are looking for it. Slight concave feel as though it was carried in a pocket, but no dings/dents. Vintage pair of Georg Jensen sterling silver lemon forks. Made in Denmark post 1945. Each fork is almost 4 3/4 inches long. Weigh 33grams together. Slender, elegant form with a pair of claw-like tynes to pierce and twist a lemon. Tapering handles with a scrolling, beaded pattern where it joins the tynes. THe handle is ridged in the center and slopes slightly downwards towards each side, adding to the elegant appearance of the fork. The terminal is like the capitol of a Greek columne with scrolling acanthus and a bud in the center. Very subtle, sophisticated design and highly attractive, useful items. Each fork is hallmarked with Georg Jensen hallmark - oval of indented dots with engraved Georg Jensen in the middle and STERLING DENMARK under it. One of the forks has a pair of Swedish import marks as well. Very good condition. Elegant sterling silver tray - could be used for candlesticks, cards, dishes. Made by Gorham and retailed by Bigelow Kennard & Co.in the late 19th century. (Bigelow Kennard & Co. were jewelers in Boston which indicates the luxurious quality of this tray). From the prestigious estate of Mrs Mary Timmins, well-known collector and authority on antiques, who lectured on the subject in the 1940''s, this was one of the pieces she used in her talk on Women in Colonial Days. Measurements:10 3/4 inches long; 6 1/2 inches at widest points. Weighs 270 grams. Beautiful rectangular tray with curved and rounded edges. Rolled, raised rims. The shoulders, arching up and out are profusely engraved with a scroll and foliate design. Each rounded corner has a gryphon - monster head with forked tongue. Exquisite! Back has engraved Gorham Sterling mark and number B2461. Lightly engraved above that is the name Bigelow Kennard & Co. A personal sticker with the name of Mrs Edward A. Timmins and her address in New York refers to Mrs Mary Timmins, the previous famous owner (see above). Very good condition - front is like a mirror. No dings/dents/damage of any sort. Outstanding pair of antique sterling silver compotes / footed centerpiece bowls. Made in the Persian pattern by Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co, Wallingford, Connecticut 1895 - 1898. From an extremely prestigious estate: William Nelson Camp, owner of Florida Power, vast real estate and phosphate mines and good friend of the richest of the rich and powerful. Weigh 900 grams (together). A little over 5 inches tall. Diameter at top of bowl is 10 inches. Round base a little like a smaller version of the upper, big bowl. Both have raised silver decoration in rich Oriental style, known as the Persian Pattern. Exquisite detail. Engraved mark underneath with J.S. Co. factory logo, STERLING, T34 and PERSIAN. Good condition with no dings/dents. Minor, negligible surface scratches commensurate with age, mentioned only for the sake of total accuracy. Simpson, Hall, Miller & Co only made sterling silver between 1895 and 1898, when they became part of the International Company. Antique / Vintage set of 6 sterling .925 silver handled butter knives in their original, fitted box. Made in Sheffield, England 1938. Each knife is 6 1/2 inches long. Good looking set of butterknives with somewhat voluptiously rounded, wide blades to facilitate spreading. Handles are made of sterling silver with a delicate repousse floral pattern with raised Snowbells / Forget-Me-Nots at both ends and ridged sides that add to the elegant look. Blades are marked EPNS. Handles are hallmarked on both front and back: maker''s mark WY; crown for the town of Sheffield, lion for sterling silver standard; date letter V. The knives come in their original fitted box. Blue outside and with black velvet fitted bottom and pearly silk top on the inside. Closes firmly and opens easilly with a push of the button on the front. Good condition. Antique perfume bottle contained in custom sterling silver case, set with gems. Made 1940-50. Measures a little over 2 1/4 inches to the top of the handle. The silver case alone weighs 15grams. Elongated rectangular bottle with rounded corners, much like the very old French flacons of pre 18th century. Stopper with faceted sections and original long stopper. A whiff of perfume can still be perceived. The sterling silver case has a little handle that can be bent down to either side in order to remove the bottle. It is engraved on either side with floral and foliate sprigs, highlighted with little cabochon gemstones. The silver case is hallmarked WELLS STERLING. The W of the WElls is almost entirely illegible. Both bottle and case are in very good condition. There is a minute chip to the rim of the bottle, shown highly magnified in the ''photos. Georgian sterling silver fish server / slice. Made Exeter, England, 1821-2 by William Welch. Measures a little over 11 1/2 inches long. Weighs 133grams. Slightly scoop-shaped, in order to hold fish more securely and possibly to catch a bit of gravy. Classic scrolling, assymetrical serving shape with delicate engraved pattern on the edges, typical of the Georgian period. The center has an openwork decoration of a fish, with wonderful engraved detail to fins and scales. The handle forms one piece with the scoop/ladle, with additional support in a raised, pointed V on the top. Rat-tail back of handle. Clearly hallmarked on the back:WW for maker William Welch; King''s head; lion passant, Exeter Town mark and date letter ''e''. Very good condition. Victorian antiqiue green glass perfume bottle in it''s original fitted sterling silver case. Made Birmingham, England, 1900 - 1901. Case is 2 3/4 inches high and weighs approx 32grams. Highly ornate repousse silver case with a reserve both front and back for engraving a name (not used). Hinged domed lid with round thumbpiece. Case is also hinged front and back. Inside of case is gilded. There is a loop on the neck for attaching as a pendant / chatelaine. Case has hallmarks on each part, including maker''s mark C&N; anchor for Birmingham, lion passant for sterling standard and date letter ''a'' for 1900 - 1901. Case is in good condition bar a small ding on the reserve in front. The case contains a beautiful emerald green glass perfume bottle with original stopper. Antique sterling silver snuff box. Made in Birmingham, England, 1793 by Samuel Pemberton. Measures 3 1/8 inches long. Weighs approx 60g / 2 troy oz. Oval shaped, hinged. The entire outside surface is richly engraved with joyous bright cut designs - floral and geometric and simply decorative. A rectangular cartouche with canted corners in the center has a monogram that looks like JA. Shields on either side are left empty. Even the bottom (underneath) is beautifully decorated. See ''photos. Inside is in much poorer condition than outside and shows it''s age/lack of polishing. However, the outside has a wonderful patina, the engraving is very beautiful and the hinge in good shape. Hallmarks on top and bottom include a somewhat worn anchor for Birmingham, makers mark SP, date letter V for 1793.
