Center stone is a rose cut diamond, foil back, pear shaped with a total weight of approximately .40 carats. 2 round rose cuts of .10 carats flank the center stone. Total diamond weight is approximately .60 carats. All diamonds tested with a diamond tester. It is difficult to determine the clarity of the diamonds due to all being foil backed. However, later in the 19th Century it became the style to eliminate the backings on the stones for it gave the diamonds more brilliance. There was no damage to the ring. This ring has an 18K yellow gold shank The five rose cut diamonds are set in silver bezels. Total diamond weight is approximately .75 carat. Georgian Diamond & Emerald Ring Circa. 1830 British This absolutely fabulous ring dates back to the end of the Georgian era and the beginnings of the Victorian Age. The ring is foil-backed, typical of Georgian era rings. However, the design (flower motif) and setting have a more modern "look" ascribed to the Victorian period. The center diamond is an old-mine cut with an approximate weight of .35 carat. There are (10) additional old single-cuts with an approximate weight of .80 carat and (2) cushion cut diamonds with an approximate weight of .06 carat. Total diamond weight is approximately 1.21 carats. All diamonds tested with a diamond tester. In addition, there are 20 table-cut natural emeralds with an approximate weight of .40 carat. All emeralds tested with refractive index liquid. The face of the ring measures 3/4 inch in diameter. Due to the detail on the shank, the ring can only be sized down without damage.
