Circa 1800 Antique Fantastic Crest Coat of Arms of Edward Montague, Earl and Baron of Beaulieu of Beaulieu in the county of Southampton. This antique old Armorial Coat of Arms is framed and matted in a black frame. The frame measures 18 1/8" X 25 1/4". THE CREST IS BRIGHT AND CLEAR AND JUST WONDERFUL. You don't see old family crests like this in this kind of Good Condition. The first title to be created in the name of Beaulieu was for Edward Hussey. He was married in 1743 to Isabella Montagu(Montague), a widow of the 2nd Duke of Manchester and daughter of the 2nd Duke of Montagu, and adopted the surname of Hussey-Montagu in 1749. He was created BARON BEAULIEU in 1762 and EARL of Beaulieu in 1784.   « Less

Beautiful Antique Print of Sailboats in the water and at Dock which reminds me of Annapolis the Capitol of Maryland and Home of the U. S NAVAL ACADEMY. Pictured in this picture are people in a very impressionist style and appears to be dated from the Late 1800's to Early 1900's. The frame probably dates from the Mid-20TH Century. There is a house on the island in the middle of the body of water. Bright Blue Sky with touches of purple and pink. Green Trees and Orange Boats on a Dark Blue Water. This piece of antique art work measures 8" X 10" (PROBABLY A PRINT) is encased and mounted in glass with a nice ornate wooden frame decorated with carved leaves and ribbed edging. Very Decorative. The frame is painted in gold and green and is 15" X 13" X 1 1/2" This print is in Perfect Condition and ready to hang on the wall.   « Less

Very Good possibility even though that this painting is not signed, I feel it might be a school of Gruppe painting. Locale appears to be of New Hope,Pennsylvania. The artist is listed in WHO WAS WHO IN AMERICAN ART. She was born in Verviers,Belgium. The Hudson River Port-Folio contains twenty aquatints views of the Hudson River Valley engraved by John Hill after paintings by William G. Wall. Published by Henry I. Megarey, New York. The Hudson River runs 315 miles from the Adirondack Mountains to New York City. The views start near Lake Luzerne and end with a view of New York City from Governor's Island. The original proposal was for twenty-four prints; however, only twenty were ever published between 1821 to 1825. This particular one is #10 which is the scene of Fort Edward. Fort Edward is situated on the east bank of the Hudson, two miles south of Sandy Hill, and about eleven miles north of Fort Miller Bridge. After much investigation--This and the other Hudson River Valley Print #20 Governor's Island that we have on our web site are not Originals BUT restrikes from about 40 years ago. Originals are worth about $6,000-$8,000.   « Less
