michael is a cree artist, born in 1955, who paints from his life and memories of the early years on the white bear first nation in southeastern saskatchewan. his works include illusions of the Spirit World as understood by his people. michael portrays people living off the land and their relationship to it, compared to the imposing realities of the oil rigs on lands where his people once hunted. he is honoured to have some of his creations hang in the canadian embassy in washington, dc, as well as in private collections and galleries throughout north america.the dimension 12"x16" on stretch canvas signed by artist.   « Less

bertram brooker 1888 - 1955 born in croydon, england bertram brooker moved with his parents to portage la prairie in 1905 and later to toronto in 1921. he acquired a reputation as a writer, painter, musician, and poet. brooker was a charter member of the canadian group of painters and he won the governor general's award for fiction in 1936 for "think of the earth". a. j. casson alfred joseph casson, p-rca. p-osa. cspwc. cpe. the group of seven. cgp.
