This is a fine early Tiffany Favrile vase of large size standing approx 19in.high.It is of a flaring shape wit ha leaf type design up the sides. However its simplicity is its great gift as the main feature of this piece is its glorious flashes of colour,iridescent blues and reds and subtle glimpses of other colours within the predominant gold.The base is an antiques gilded bronze fully signed on the underside as is the glass at the base with LCT Favrile hand engraved into the glass. This is a very early example of this ware where Loius Comfort Tiffany realised his ambition to create the colours which ancient excavated glass carries through the result of chemical changes brought about by the composition of the glass itself combined with a reaction of the soil salts in which it has been buried. The vase, is amazingly, for a piece of this size, totally undamaged. An identicaL example is shown on pg.153 of Arts and Cafts Movement by Grange books published in 2002   « Less

This is one of the nicest of this style of bottle I've seen. Excellent condition all round. It measures 20 cm high and 6.75 cm square at the base. Quite a stunner!.
