Rare Framus semi-hollow body experimental, one off, prototype??? Here is a very well made semi-hollow electric by Framus in Germany, made circa 1972-73. This was previously unknown to the Framus Museum until a few years ago when I contacted them about it. In the 70's Framus was treading water and going under fast. They were scraping and using what ever parts they had lying around to conserve money till they finally went bankrupt. This guitar is a product of that era in Framus history. It has a model 5/117-52 Caravelle body with a model 070 Sorento 6 neck and is designated model 007262 on the inside label. This is how it came from the factory. This is a very well made and excellent playing and sounding guitar. The neck is a multi laminate of about 60 thin layers of wood and has a nice round hefty profile, not baseball bat, but very comfortable. The ebony fretboard with the medium jumbo frets is a joy to play. The vibrant sunburst finish is outstanding. She weighs in at a hefty 8lb 13 oz. Her strip tuners were replaced during her working life with closed single tuners. I have played her for a few years and she has low comfortable action with a straight neck. A nicer vintage Framus would be very hard to find. She has some dings and finish checking, but overall she is in very good condition. Original whammy bar included, see photo. A super rare find is this C 1962 Hofner Colorama II in excellent vintage condition with its original case! Electronics function flawlessly Neck is straight, frets are excellent and action is low. Some edge wear, tiny nicks and scratches, etc nothing out of the ordinary for a vintage guitar in excellent condition. Awesome vintage vibes!!! These early bolt on neck Hofners are hollow body and featherweight, as were other early Hofners, Magnatones and similar guitars of this period so it is a joy to play, easy and light, and will really crank with that 60’s Hofner sound. Exact same electronics were used in the more popular Hofners of the period. Guitar itself weighs 4lbs 12 oz. Guitar and case weigh 8lbs 7oz together! Case is excellent and a very rare survivor, made of thin wood with an oilcloth covering and green felt lining (some minor tatters). Has edge wear, as seen in photos, but no structural issues at all, still very strong and sound. It has a super cool vintage look to it. All hinges, hasps and lock work excellent and even the original green “hinge” ribbon is intact! A VERY RARE OFFERING!. Gorgeous, rare guitar in outstanding condition!!! Price is firm. An extremely rare Herrnsdorf, mid century modern, space age electric guitar. I was told many years ago by the European collector that sold me this guitar that it was made sometime between 1958-1960, putting its manufacture in the first few years of the space age and the race for space. It was made in the DDR, behind the iron curtain, in “communist Germany”. its design reflects the deco style, the mid century modern retro style and that early “science fiction” space age, robot, look! This guitar is only one of a very few surviving examples and undoubtedly the best and most complete. The case is filled with its period accessories; a blue sparkle foot switch, some type of effects foot switch, cables, adapters, original leather strap, literature, picks and strings, etc. Its original case is in excellent condition. The guitar is a beautiful deep blue sparkle with the famous early DDR Rellog Gitona pickups. The pick guard is perfect with no cracks and it has all the original knobs and original tremolo bar! The neck is a 3 piece solid mahogany laminate. It is approaching baseball fat. The all metal strip tuners are all excellent. Overall guitar is in excellent, vintage, untouched condition, exactly the way I bought it many years ago. I have not had a chance to get to it, but did fix its broken leather handle by adding a brass support strap that encircles the leather, leaving the original leather fully intact when I first got it. Guitar will need a through cleaning. There is finger muck all along the fretboard, some light tarnish and some light metal oxidation. The electronics will need a through going over (cleaning) and the guitar will need to be set up. As I said, I have not gotten to it and have done absolutely nothing to it. When I bought it I did plug in the guitar and the electronics did function. All that being said….guitar is an EXTREME RARITY, one of the rarest retro guitars in existance and is being sold “as is” as a RARE, museum worthy, collector piece. Price is firm. A very rare BC Rico (BC Rich) Wave designed by Bernie Rico and manufactured at the prestigious Nagoya plant in Japan between 1984-1986. These guitars are some of the niccest BC Rich designs ever and have one of he lowest production numbers of all BC Rich guitars. These will only appreciate as collector’s grab them up, so don’t miss out on this one! This is a neck through design made of solid maple and walnut. The guitar balances very well and is a joy to play. Neck is straight and frets are excellent. Electronics are original and function excellent. This guitar is not only a looker, but a player and weighs a comfortable 8 pounds. She has had little play time and comes with her BC Rich fitted hard-shell (wood) case in excellent condition. She will rock your socks off!!! This is a large guitar with a heavy well built case, so PP&I will be a little more than average. She will ship out of Connecticut, USA and it will be impossible, because of postal regulations, to ship her to places like Australia or New Zealand. A rare English made 1965 Vox Shadow. This was The top of the line guitar that Vox was producing at the time and featured a solid mahogany body, solid maple neck, 3 pickups and tremolo system. It is very versatile yet a very light weight guitar (just under 7 lbs) that is a very comfortable player and won’t break your back or wallet. Overall excellent condition with some minor nicks and scratches as expected from a 50 year old. Frets are nearly new and she plays and functions flawlessly.
