For Sale I have a wonderful piece of Art Glass Blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a very hard to find Compote or Comport and it is done in Frederick Carder's very desirable Rosaline and Alabaster Glass. The Compote is a nice size as it stands 3 9/16" tall and is 8" in diameter.
The Compote displays a very pleasing Rosy Pink Interior Bowl that sits on top of an Alabaster (White) round foot and stem. The underside of the Bowl shows a soft opalescent white glass with pink towards the applied stem. The Glass is very smooth to the touch and looks very delicate. The inside of the bowl has a small hill formed by the Stem on the bottom side.
The Compote is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is a few carbon specs on the inside of the Compote and this seems to be common with the Rosaline pieces. The piece is unsigned but it does display a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass as the Factory took the time to polish out the rough Pontil Scar.
This is a Quality piece of Steuben Art Glass that is not so commonly found. I'm sure that Steuben Collector that purchases this Compote or Comport will be extremely please. I believe this to be shape number 3234 as seen in the Paul Gardner Book "The Glass of Frederick Carder" page 173 top left. This piece was made, Circa 1918-1932. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass Blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is the very desirable Ruffled Flower Form Vase and it is done in Frederick Carder's most desirable Blue Aurene Glass. The Vase is a cabinet size as it stands 5" tall and is 5 1/16" in diameter.
The Vase has that classic ruffled flower form shape with 6 ruffles. It displays an outstanding Blue Iridescence that Rivaled L.C. Tiffany's Favrile Style of Art Glass. The Blue Aurene iridescence is outstanding as you can see vivid hues of Blues, Purples and Golds accented with some Fuchsia. The soft but Brilliant Blue Sheen is soft to the touch and eye candy to the eyes. The inside of the piece has a nice Blue Iridescence where you can see gold over tones.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The only issue is a small scratch in the exterior iridescence and this is pictured and considered insignificant. The Vase is signed on the bottom with the engraved "Aurene" Signature mark along with its shape number "723".
This shape is commonly found in Gold but Blue has always been harder to find and commands a stronger value. This shape only appears a few times each year as it seems the collectors really hang on to these beauties. Those of you whom Collect Steuben Blue Aurene will surely welcome this wonderful Cabinet piece into your Collection. Based on the Signature mark this Cabinet Vase was made Circa 1917-1925.

or Sale is a beautiful Art Glass Bowl made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. I have a hand blown "Squat Bowl" in a Cyprian color. It is done in the Verre de Soie Aquamarine Style of Art Glass with a Celeste blue glass top border. This was Frederick Carder's Favorite Glass. "Verre de Soie" literally means "Glass of Silk". This Bowl is a nice cabinet size as it measures 2 7/8" tall and the top opening has a diameter of 4 3/8" inside measurement. The Bowl has an overall diameter of 6" with the foot having a diameter of 3".
The Vase depicts a Milky Translucent White Iridescent Glass throughout with a tinge of green at the bottom. The Vase is further decorated with a beautiful soft Celeste Blue border. This blue layer is applied to the exterior of the glass. The iridescence is just wonderful as you can see beautiful hues of Fuchsia, Purples and Blues. When you rub this piece of glass across your face it has a very silky feel to it, thus the name "Verre de Soie" Glass of Silk. The Bowl when held at an angle has a green hue to it in the bottom and might be actually classified as Aquamarine which is in the Verre de Soie Family.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. The Blue top border is perfect. There are very minor scratches on the underside bottom exterior edge. The Vase is very clean inside and shows no signs of calcium deposits. There is an inclusion of a colored thread within the bottom of the Bowl pictured. The vase displays a counter sunk polished pontil, the sign of a Quality hand made piece of Art Glass. The vase is unsigned as is the case with the "Cyprian" style of Art Glass. This style usually carried a paper label. This is shape number 2687 in the Steuben Catalog of shapes. I have attached a link to the Steuben Club Website to Show you below.

For Sale is a very adorable vase made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is more commonly known as a Gold Aurene "Mini Stick" or "Mini Bud" Vase. This Beautiful Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 6" Tall and the top of the stick has a diameter of 5/8" outside measurement. The Round Foot has a diameter of 2 5/16".
The Vase displays a very strong Gold Aurene, Favrile Iridescence that only Steuben is known for. It has a Brilliant Gold Mirrored Metallic appearance, yet it is Glass. There are wonderful strong hues of Fuchsia mixed with Gold Iridescence especially on the surface of the foot. The underside bottom of this is simply outstanding!! It displays some of the strong Platinum Blue w purple iridescence I have ever seen on a Aurene Stick Vase. This was Frederick Carder at his best! The Round Hollow Tall Cylindrical Stick Form is mounted to a Round Platform or Foot. They are fused together to appear as only one piece was blown yet it is actually a two part Vase.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, or dings. The tops of these vases should Not be Polished and smooth. This is not how Steuben made these. The tops should be rough cut and look like this. The ones that have been Polished Smooth are done after market. This one doesn't even show Flea kicks which is not common for this area but the cutter did an excellent job. The Vase shows minimal use as you can tell by the lack of scratches on the bottom.
The Vase is signed on the bottom with the Engraved "Aurene" mark along with the shape number "2556" as shown in the Steuben Catalog. This is a quality piece of Art glass and will enhance any Art Glass Collection. Those of you who collect Aurene Stick Vases and want a nice, rare example don't let this pass you by.
I have been dealing in Steuben for some 38+ years. I have had only 1 of these Mini Stick Vases in all those years. I have shown a Comparison to the normal size one would find in picture 3. I also have that Stick Vase listed on EBay as well. You can clearly see it is much smaller. The mini is 2" smaller in height than the normal 8" and the foot is almost 1/2" smaller in diameter. I have attached a link to the Steuben Club Website to document this shape below.

For Sale is a hard to find piece of Art Glass made by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The Item is a hand blown and engraved "Cruet" and it is done in the Verre de Soie Style of Art Glass. This was Frederick Carder's Favorite Glass. "Verre de Soie" literally means "Glass of Silk". The Cruet has some size to it as it stands 7 1/4" tall to the top of the Stopper and it is 3 1/4" in diameter at the bottom.
The Cruet depicts a Milky Translucent White Glass throughout. Both pieces have a wonderful iridescence sheen to it. You can see beautiful hues of Fuchsia, Purples and Blues. When you rub this piece of glass across your face it has a very silky feel to it, thus the name "Verre de Soie" Glass of Silk. The Cruet is Wheel Engraved by Hawkes with the words "Oil" towards the top of the Bottle and "Vinegar" at the bottom. This is only on one side of the bottle. There is a Garland of Flowers and Leaves that are also wheel etched or engraved. There is a set of Flowers on the front and back. These are separated by the long Vine of wheel cut leaves. The stopper is also engraved on the top with the Floral Pattern.
The Cruet is considered to be in very good to excellent condition. There are are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings to the bottom and the bottom of the bottle stopper has a very tiny flea nick. There are a scratches on the bottom of the bottle and this is typical of wear. The Cruet does display a counter sunk polished Pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass. The Cruet is signed in an Acid Etched Signature mark that reads "Hawkes". The bottom of the stopper also bears this signature as well. There appear to be some other writing below the bottle signature mark but I cannot make out what it says.
I believe this to be similar in shape to number 3063 in the Steuben Catalog of shapes. This should be a new shape for the Steuben Club to index. It is not quite the same as shape number 3063 but is very close. I will attach a link to the Steuben Club Website of shapes to show this below.

This is an early piece of Steuben. Frederick Carder came over from England to Corning, NY and formed a partnership with Thomas Hawkes in 1903. Their new company was called "Steuben" after the county Coring was in. Hawkes did the engraving on the Glass and Steuben made the Glass blanks. Steuben Aurene Glass is some the Highest Quality Glass you can own. At the turn of the Century LCT Tiffany Studio's Favrile line was their main competitor and their fared equally as well creating some of the nicest Art Glass Vases the World has ever seen.
These Cruets were used and most of them did not make it through. This Style of Bottle is very hard to find without damage. I am happy to report that this has only a Flea Nick and is considered insignificant! Those of you who collect Verre de Soie and want an excellent example do not let this one slip by you!! This piece was early in Steuben's Production as it was made, Circa 1903-1915. « Less

For Sale is a wonderful piece of Art Glass Blown by The Steuben Glass Company of Corning, New York. The item is a very hard to find Oriental Poppy color of Art Glass. This was one of Frederick Carder's favorite glass colors. The Vase is a nice cabinet size as it stands 5 1/8" tall and is 6 1/4" in diameter.
The Vase has a classic Greek shape of a squat tapered shoulder form with a flaring top lip. The Vase displays a very pleasing pattern of vertical opalescent fingers that rise up from the bottom all the way to the flaring top lip. These opalescent fingers are set against a pastel rosy red pink background glass. The fingers are nice and wide. The advanced Steuben Collectors really like them to be this way.
The Vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, nicks, chips or dings. There is very minor calcium deposit on the inside. You can only see light residue when held at an angle looking inside. This is minor and inconsequential. The piece is unsigned but it does display a counter sunk polished pontil. This is the sign of a quality piece of Art Glass as the Factory took the time to polish out the rough pontil scar.
This is a Quality piece of Steuben Art Glass that is rarely found. I'm sure that Steuben Collector that purchases this Vase will be extremely pleased. I believe this to be shape number 6500 as seen in the Steuben Club Website. I will attach a link below for you to view this at the website.
In the 1920's Steuben produced a limited quantity of pink opalescent glass that they named Oriental Poppy. It was produced for a very short period and is very hard to find. This form is a little bit larger than most found in this shape. This piece was made, Circa 1922-1925.
